An applicant must hold a minimum score of 60% marks in his/her previous year examination.


2. PM Narendra Modi Scholarship

Aim: - This scholarship is also called ‘Chaatravriti Scholarship Yojana’. It is for students of class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th who cannot afford higher studies.

Benefits of the scholarship

  • Ministry of Human Resource department will give ₹ 80,000 Scholarship to 25,000 students with a Science background
  • Scholarship worth ₹ 10,000 to Maths, Commerce and Other branches to 11,000 students of Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply for the program are: -

  • The student from economically weaker families receives preference.
  • The candidate should have a score of at least 75% in class 12th to apply for the scholarship.

3. Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

Aim: - This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to worthy students of the minority community who wish to study further. The beneficiary students get tuition-fee and maintenance allowance to pursue a technical/professional course on the Graduation or Post-Graduation level.

Benefits of the scholarship

The beneficiary gets a monthly reward of ₹ 1,000 for ten months. Thus, in a year he/she gets ₹ 10,000.  There is an additional reward of ₹ 20,000 to pay the tuition fee.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Those students who get admission in the professional/ technical course through a Common Admission process are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Those students who get admission in the professional/technical course without Common Admission Test can also get this scholarship provided they should have a score of 50%v marks in the Class 12th exam.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹ 2.50 lakhs.
  • Students receive rewards on merit-basis.
  • The applicant should have ‘Aadhaar Card’.
  • There is a reserved share of 30% for female candidates.

4. CBSE Merit-Based Scholarship for the Single Girl Child

Aim: - The CBSE Merit-Based scholarship is for those girl students who are the single child of their parents. Its goal is to promote education among meritorious female candidates who have passed Class 10th.

Benefits of the scholarship

Selected students get ₹ 500 per month for a maximum of 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The students should have a minimum score of 60% in Class 10th or should have a CGPA – 6.2 to become eligible for this scholarship.
  • The applicant should be studying in Class 11th or Class 12th from any school affiliated with CBSE.
  • The monthly tuition fee of the school should not exceed ₹ 1500 per month.

5. National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme

Aim: - To help students belonging to deprived sections of the society and studying in class 8th. With this scheme, students get financial support so that they can complete their studies up to Class 12th. National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship was started to hold the dropout-rates among school students of disadvantaged sections after Class 8th.

Benefits of the Scholarship

Selected students get ₹ 500 monthly for a maximum period of 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹ 1.5 lakhs.
  • The applicant should have a minimum score of 55% marks in the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship exam at the Class 7th level.

6. L'Oreal scholarship Scheme for Young Women in Science

Aim: – The L’Oreal scholarship is for girl students who wish to pursue their career in the Science discipline. It aims at encouraging young women in Science.

Benefits of the scholarship

Selected girl applicants get up to ₹ 2.50 lakhs in equal annual instalments to pursue their career in science/ technical field.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The girl student should have a minimum aggregate of 85% marks in class 12th PCB/PCM.
  • Maximum age of this scholarship is 19 years.

7. Inspire Scholarship

Aim: – ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Knowledge’ is a scholarship programme by the Department of Science and Technology. It aims at attracting young students in Science and Technology field. Students receive this scholarship at school and college level.

Benefits of the scholarship

  • Students studying in Class 6 to 10 get a stipend of ₹ 5000 to participate in the Science programme.
  • Those students who opt to pursue Bachelors and Masters in Science get ₹ 80,000 on an annual basis.
  • The total number of the scholarship is 10,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be among the top 1% in the Class 12th examination.
  • Those students who have secured the top 10,000 rank either in the JEE or the NEET exam are eligible for this scholarship.
  • The applicant should have taken admission in the Natural or the Basic science.

8. Indian Oil Scholarship Scheme for Students

Aim: - It aims at providing financial support to bright students of the disadvantaged sections to pursue professional courses like Engineering, ITI, MBBS etc. at the 10+2 or Graduate or Postgraduate level.

Benefits of the scholarship

Those selected for this scholarship get the tuition fee for the professional course which they are pursuing. Besides this, they might also get ₹ 10,000 annually to pay for their courses.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a regular and full-time student enrolled in any professional course at a well-known college or university.
  • The applicant should have secured admission through the common admission process.
  • The student should be between 15 to 30 years of age.
  • Out of the total number of the scholarship, the percentages of the reserved seats for various categories of students are as follows –
      • SC/ST/OBC Students – 49.5%
      • Girl students – 25%
      • A person with disabilities- 10%

9. G.P Birla scholarship scheme (For West Bengal)

Aim: – To empower the youth of the nation through education. Famous philanthropist Late Shri G. P Birla started this scholarship to help exemplary students from the economically poorer section of the society.

Benefits of the scholarship

  • Those students who are selected for this scholarship get ₹ 50,000 per year to cover Tuition Fee and Hostel fee.
  • Selected students will also get ₹ 7,000 (Onetime payment) to purchase books and study materials in 1st Year.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is only for those students who belong to West Bengal. Other important criterions are: -

  • He/ she should have a minimum score of 80% from the state board or 85% marks from the central board in Class 12th to become eligible for the scholarship.
  • Further should be in any renowned University/Institution in India.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview by an expert panel.

10. Aditya Birla Scholarship Scheme

Aim of the Scholarship– This scholarship is given by the famous Aditya Birla Group of industries. The scholarship is given to students who are pursuing courses from a selected list of institutes like IITs, XLRI, BITS Pilani, etc.

Benefits of the scholarship

Those students who are selected for this scholarship receive the following amount for pursuing a professional course from –

  • IIT / BITS (Pilani) – ₹ 1,00,000 annually.
  • XLRI/IIMs – ₹ 1,75,000 annually
  • LAW – ₹ 1,80,000 per annum

Eligibility for the scholarship

The applicant should have secured admission in any one of the following institutes of India –

XLRI, IIMs, IIT, BITS (Pilani), National Law School of India in Bangalore, NALSAR University of Law (Hyderabad), The National Law University Jodhpur, The WB National University of Juridical Sciences - Kolkata & Gujarat National Law University.


11. Post Matric Scholarships Scheme

Aim: – The Post-Matric Scholarship scheme is for students belonging from minority sections of society. The minority sections include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis). It aims to help students pursue higher secondary education along with graduation and post graduation.

Benefits of the scholarship

Selected students of this scholarship receive the following benefits: -

  • For Class 11th And 12th Students₹ 7,000 per annum for admission and tuition fee
  • For Vocational/Technical Courses at Higher Secondary Level- ₹ 10,000 annually
  • For Graduation and Post Graduation- ₹ 3,000 per annum for admission and tuition fee

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must have secured at least 50% in the last exam to become eligible for this scholarship.
  • The yearly family income of the candidate should be ₹2 lakhs or less.

12. Central Sector Scholarship

Aim: - Central Sector Scholarship is for students who have passed class 12th and require financial help to pursue higher education.  Candidates can apply for it through the National Scholarship Portal.

Benefits of the scholarship

  • To complete graduation, a student receives ₹ 1,000 per month for a period of 3 years.
  • To pursue post-graduation, the candidate will get ₹ 2,000 monthly for two years.
  • Applicants get ₹ 1,000 for the first three years and ₹ 2,000 for the 4th and 5th year.

Eligibility Criteria

Every candidate has to meet the following criterion to apply for the program: -

  • The minimum age limit to apply for the program is between 18-25 years.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must be ₹ 6, 00,000 or less.
  • The candidate should have a score of at least 75% to apply for the scholarship.
  • Students with 85% marks or more in Class 12th get ₹ 25,000 to pursue a career of their choice.
