AIIMS MBBS Exam 2018 Pattern & Syllabus

The AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The question paper will consist of 200 Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion) questions. The duration of exam will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. There is a provision for negative marking where each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and one-third mark will be deducted for an incorrect response.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2018 Eligibility

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate should have passed class XII/Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or equivalent examination from a recognised Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
  • Candidate appearing in the above-mentioned qualifying examination (with PCB and English subjects) are also eligible to appear in the AIIMS exam provided they produce the proof of passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission.
  • Minimum aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English should be:

General and OBC candidates

Age

Candidate should have attained or will attain 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission (2018). This means, the candidate born on or after 2nd January 2002 are NOT eligible for the AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam.

Nationality

Citizens of India, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) are eligible to appear for the exam.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2018 Application Process

The application form is available on the official website from 05 February 2018 (Monday). The last date to apply for the AIIMS MBBS exam 2018 is 05 March 2018 (till 05:00 PM).

How To Apply

The following steps are required to be followed for filling the online application form –

  • Visit the official website for AIIMS exams.
  • Click on the “Academic Courses” tab on the homepage.
  • Click on “MBBS” under “Undergraduate” column.
  • A pop-up window will appear, click on “Proceed” button.
  • Click on “Click Here” button under “New Registration” section.
  • Read the details of documents required for the online application, make sure you are ready with them and click on “Proceed” button.
  • Read the instructions carefully and again click on “Proceed”
  • Complete the Registration process by providing the details asked for.
  • You will receive the user id and password on your registered email id.
  • Use the user id and password to log in and complete the remaining steps of the registration process such as documents upload, fee payment etc.
  • Take a print out of the confirmation page.

Other Details

Admit Card Issuance

The AIIMS - New Delhi, the exam conducting authority will issue the admit cards of candidates from 10th May 2018 at its official website. Candidates can download it from the website and must carry it along with themselves on the day of the exam.

Result Announcement

The result of the AIIMS MBBS 2018 Exam is expected to be announced on 18 June 2018, by the AIIMS - New-Delhi. Candidates can see their results online on the official website of AIIMS by entering their user id and password. The minimum cut-off marks for different categories of candidates are as follows –

  • General – 50%
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 45%
  • SC/ST – 40%
  • PWBD – as per the category they belong to

Counselling of Candidates for admission

After the declaration of the exams results, counselling will start. It will be done by the exam conducting authority i.e. AIIMS, Delhi. Candidates are required to be physically present for their counselling on the given date. In counselling, candidates are given choice for colleges as per their rank and merit. So far 3 rounds of counselling dates are announced by the authority and in addition, there is also a proposal for the open round of counselling if required.

Q. If any documents are required to be uploaded during the filling of the application form?

No there is no such requirement for submitting any documents while filling the application form. Only scanned images of photograph and signature are required.
