
AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is one of the premier medical institutes in India. It carries within its fold nine medical institutions located across different cities of India. It is an autonomous body formed under the Parliamentary Act of 1956. Till 2019, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi used to conduct AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam for admission in MBBS programme offered by all 9 AIIMS (New Delhi, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, Guntur, Nagpur, Patna and Raipur). The exam was conducted through CBT (computer-based test) in several Indian cities for admission in 807 MBBS seats offered by AIIMS.
However, with effect from 2020, admission to AIIMS MBBS will be conducted through NEET. This is done to ensure common standards of medical education in the country and save the students from appearing in multiple exams. AIIMS, New Delhi has also released a notice in this regard on 31st December 2019. The notice states;
“The admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, and all AIIMS like institutions will be made through NEET (UG) & will be conducted by National Testing Agency, not by AIIMS, New Delhi.”
AIIMS MBBS 2020 Exam Latest Notification: Admission to AIIMS MBBS course will be done through NEET. The online application process for NEET (UG) was conducted from 2nd to 31st December 2019. The NEET (UG) exam is scheduled to be held on 3rd May 2020.
