The COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) as the name signifies, is a state level entrance test. It is conducted by the state of Karnataka for the admission of candidates for whooping 20,000 seats in 150 engineering colleges, 25 dental colleges and 14 medical colleges. The COMEDK organises two separate exams in a year for admission in the Undergraduate courses and the Post graduate courses.

As per the honourable Supreme Court judgement and the Presidential Ordinance issued on May.25th, 2016, NEET becomes the only valid entrance exam for admission in undergraduate courses of medical like MBBS and BDS.  Hence COMEDK undergraduate exam for medical courses was invalidated. However the colleges were given freedom to conduct their own medical exam on PG level entry.

Now the COMEDK UGET Exam is held for engineering courses (B.Tech and B.Arch) only. The COMEDK PGET Exam is held for entry of students in the Post graduate courses of Medical.

From 2017 the COMEDK UGET Exam is held only for B.Tech and B.Arch.

Eligibility for COMEDK Exam

Candidate should fulfil certain criteria to become eligible for the exam. It should be noted that there will be no entrance test for admission in the B.Arch course. Instead the candidate’s NATA score will be used for admission. In addition the candidate should fulfil certain educational criteria for to become eligible for admission. Candidate wishing to join the B.Arch course are required to fill the separate application form.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch Course

  • The candidate should have done his 12th standard or must have passed the equivalent exam with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subject.

  • The candidate belonging to the general category should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the 12th exam or the equivalent. There is relaxation given in the minimum percentage of marks required for the reserved category. A candidate of reserved category should have a score of 45% marks to become eligible for the exam.

  • A candidate should have a minimum score of 80 marks out of 200 in the NATA Exam to be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech course

  • The candidate should have done his 12th standard with the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognised central or state board/ University.

  • Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the COMEDK UGET exam.

  • The general candidate should have scored minimum 45% marks in aggregate. The reserved category candidate should have a score of 40% marks in aggregate to become eligible for the exam.

  • Physics and Mathematics are the compulsory subjects and along with it candidate can have combination with Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Electronics or Computer Science.

COMEDK Exam Admission Process

Candidates can apply online for the COMEDK UGET. There is no provision for the offline mode/post mode for the submission of Application form. It should be filled and submitted through the online mode only. The Application form for the COMEDK UGET can be availed from Feb. 13th, 2017 till April 20th, 2017. After submitting their respective application form candidate should not forget to keep its print copy. This will be for their ready reference in future.

How To Apply

  • Candidate should visit the official website of the COMEDK. They must note that they can fill their application form only through the official website only and from no other site it can be accessed.

  • On the official website they must select for the option for the UGET of the COMEDK exam.

  • They will be asked to fill their basic details – name, address, email id and mobile number.

  • There after the candidate will be given login id and password on their email id.

  • With the help of their Login id and password, they can get access to the application form.

  • Before starting to fill their application form, candidate should first of all note down the Application sequence number.

  • Candidate should fill all the specified columns of the Application form. They must fill their basic details, about their educational background, marks and address.

  • They should also upload the scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and ID proof in the specified dimensions.

  • The sizes of photograph and signature should not be more than 80kb. The dimensional size of the Photograph should be 35mm by 45mm and for that of the signature should be 35mm by 80mm.

  • The ID Proof size should not exceed 180 kb. As id proof one’s Voter Id, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, DL, Passport or School or College id can be submitted.

  • Some other documents should also be submitted along with the application form. These are –

  • The candidate must submit his educational certificate as proof. He should upload the scanned copy of his educational certificate, necessarily with the seal and signature of the head of the college or institution last studied. It should not exceed the size of 180 kb.

  • Candidate should also upload the scanned copy of his father’s signature not exceeding 80 kb size within the dimensional size of 35mm by 80mm.

  • Along with the application form candidate should also pay the application fee. For this they should select on the mode of application fee payment.

  • Fill in the details of the application fee being paid.

  • Before clicking on the submit button for application form submission it is advised to candidates that they should once again check their form and make corrections of errors, if any. Because after the submission of the application form they will not be given any chance to do so.

  • Candidate must take the print copy of the application form for any future reference.

Application Fee

  • The Application Fee for the COMEDK UGET in the PCM group is Rs.1200 and for COMEDK and UniGauge it is Rs.2000.

  • It should be paid only through the online mode by Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.

Admit Card

Admit Card for the COMEDK UGET 2017 Exam can be downloaded from the official website. Candidate should know this that they can get their admit card online only. No hard copy of the admit card will be sent on their residential address. It is mandatory to bring one’s admit card at the centre of examination. Without admit card candidate will not be allowed to take up the exam. The admit cards are also required to be produced by the candidate during the counselling. So it should be kept safe till the completion of the whole process of exams.

Result Declaration And Publication of Answer Key for COMEDK UGET 2017 Exam

The result for the exam will be declared on May 29th, 2017. An All India merit list of candidates is prepared on the basis of their score in the exam. They can check their results online with login credentials. By entering their id and password candidate can obtain his score card and rank card.

Before the publication of the final results the provisional and final answer keys will be published on May 18th and May 26th, 2017.

Counselling and Admission

Allocation of seats in various colleges affiliated to the COMEDK will be made on the basis of the score and rank earned by him. There is a centralized process of counselling and admission. Students should check the official website of the COMEDK to know about the updates related the counselling.
