The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Government of India are vested with the responsibility of conducting the recruitment process and managing the appointment of new employees at various posts in the Indian Railways. RRBs recruit for Group B, Group C, and Group D posts. A few of the popular exams conducted by RRBs are RRB NTPC, Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), Junior Engineer, Assistant Manager, Traffic Assistant, Ticket Checker, Goods Guard, Group D exam etc.

RRB ALP 2022 Pattern & Syllabus

The selection for Railway ALP & Technicians posts will be done through two stages:

  • First stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates who have opted for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) post are required to take the Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT) after qualifying for the second stage CBT. Here is the detailed exam pattern for both stages:

RRB ALP Syllabus

RRB ALP 2022 Eligibility

Nationality

Candidates, who are citizens of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Burma, Bhutan, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Zaire, Malawi, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, East African Countries of Kenya and Tibet are eligible for this post  

Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit for all the posts is 18 years and the maximum is 28 years as on 1st July 2022.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to reserved category candidates provided they submit the requisite certificates. Candidates can check out the relaxation criteria in the official notification.

RRB ALP 2022 Application Process

Candidates are required to submit only a single online application form for the notified posts. In order to ensure speedy filling up of the application form, it is advised to get the following documents ready:

  • Scanned image of a recent (colored) photograph of the applicant in JPEG format with image size between 15KB to 40 KB.
  • Scanned image of SC/ST certificate (for candidates seeking free travel pass) in JPEG with size 50KB to 100KB.
  • Scanned image of Scribe photograph (color) (wherever applicable) in JPEG with size 15KB to 40KB

Online Application Process for RRB ALP Exam 2022 -

  • Go to the official website of Indian Railways - http://www.indianrailways.gov.in.
  • Click on the ‘RECRUITMENT’ tab at the top of the home page.
  • A page will appear listing all the RRBs.
  • Click the RRB link through which you want to apply.
  • You will be redirected to the official website of the respective RRB.
  • Look for the online application link CEN 01/2022 and click it.
  • Register for the exam by entering your name, DoB, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email id, and other details. Re-check all the details before submitting.
  • On successful registration, the login details will be sent to your registered mobile number and email id.
  • Use the login details to complete the application form.
  • Enter your educational qualification, gender, religion, category, etc. When your form will be complete, you will be redirected to the payment page.
  • Choose from the payment mode – offline or online and complete the payment process.
  • After fee payment is complete, you will be redirected to part II of the application process where you are required to fill in the details of the Scribe (if required) such as educational qualification, photograph, and language for the first and second CBT.
  • Complete the form by uploading your required documents, giving your consent for sharing scores with PSUs/Ministries/Departments/Private organization, and confirming the declaration.
  • Submit the application form and take a print out of the completed form for a record.

Mode of Payment

Candidates can pay the fee through both offline and online mode. Online fee payment can be done through internet banking or debit/credit cards while offline payment can be made through SBI or Post Office Challan.

RRB ALP 2022 Other Details

RRB ALP Exam Admit Card 2022

The RRB ALP hall tickets 2022 will be released on the official website 4 days prior to the CBT examination. Candidates can follow the steps to download the call letter:

  • Go to the official website of RRBs through which you have applied for the exam.
  • Find the call letter/admit card link and click it.
  • Enter your login credentials and submit them.
  • Your admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Download it and take a print out.

Note: Candidates are required to carry admit cards to the examination centre. Without possessing the hall tickets, they will not be allowed to take the exam. Along with the admit card, candidates are required to carry valid photo ID proof.

RRB ALP Result 2022

RRBs will prepare a merit list for the recommended candidates, however, the appointment will be offered only by the respective railway administration. The list will be released through the official websites of RRBs and candidates will be able to check their result through their login credentials. There is no information on the sarkari result date till now by the RRBs.

RRB ALP Frequently Asked Questions

There is no announcement regarding the exam date yet.

The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years as calculated on 01/07/2022.

There is a relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, Technical Ability, Arithmetic and General Science are covered in this exam.

Multiple Choice questions are asked in both papers of ALP. There are seventy-five questions in the stage I paper and candidates need to solve them in one hour only. In stage II, there are 100 questions and the duration is 90 minutes.

Candidates should refer to RRB ALP books for better preparation. Solving papers of the last five years proves very useful for candidates. As a result, they do not feel nervous while taking their exam.
