Last Modified: 22 Apr 2024

The JEE Main (I) 2019 exam will be conducted on 6th January for admission into IITs, NITs and CFTIs for the B.E, B.Tech or B. Arch degrees. The National Testing Agency will organise this Engineering Entrance Exam. The registration for the same is set to begin from the 1st September 2018. If you are interested to sit for the upcoming exam, don’t wait for the last day i.e. 30th September 2018. However, there are a few things to keep in mind while filling in the online application form.

Never take these 5 important points mentioned below for granted during the application process and avoid getting your application form rejected.

1. Verified Credentials:

You need to insert all the credentials correctly. According to the official notice of JEE - “The JEE (Main) secretariat do neither verify the information filled by the candidates in the application form nor verify any certificate of category/educational qualification for deciding the eligibility of candidates. The certificates of educational qualification and category (if applied under reserved category) will be verified by the concerned institution. The candidates are, therefore, advised to ensure their eligibility and the category (if applying under reserved category). The Authority will in no way be responsible for any wrong/incorrect information furnished by the candidate(s) in their online application form.” So make sure that the fields are correctly filled up.

2. Avoid Documents Mismatch:

There are instances where the candidates have reported about spelling mistakes in the ‘candidate’s name, parent’s name or any other information’. In that case, you have to request a correction to the nearest Aadhaar Card enrolment centre. You need to fill up the 14-digit aadhaar card number printed on the issued slip after submitting the request. Or, you can fill up the application form with the old details of the aadhaar card and change the information by submitting a correction request.

The application fee payment can be done through both the online and offline options. The online process of payment will only be done by net banking or debit card or credit card. For the offline process, you need to go for the e-challan for the Syndicate Bank/Canara Bank/ICICI Bank. E-challan from any other bank will not be accepted and any other mode of offline payment like Demand Draft and Cheque are not accepted. After the completion of the payment, the acknowledgement page will appear. Take a printout of the particular page. If it does not appear, the payment procedure will get cancelled and your payment will be refunded within 7-8 business days. You need to do the payment procedure again.
