JEE Main Exam 2018: Know How To Make Correction In Application Form

The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE is giving an opportunity to all the JEE aspirants to make correction in the uploaded images. They have started the facility on 8th December. The JEE Main Exam 2018 is a selection gateway for the undergraduate engineering courses in IITs, NITs, CFITs, IIITs and other leading colleges. The online application has started on 1st December 2017. Every candidate must fill up the form correctly and submit the accurate documents. Incomplete form or discrepancy in form can lead to cancellation of the form. So the candidate must do the correction within the given time frame to appear in the JEE Main Exam.

Application Form Correction Date:

The candidate must log in to the official website to make a correction or change. There is no other mode of mending the form like email and post. And this option is available for one time only. This facility is only available to the candidates who have paid the fees for the registration process. The candidate can find out the application and correction dates from the following table:

It is advisable to all the candidates not to wait for the correction facility; rather they should provide extra care while filling up the form correctly.

Steps to make Correction in the Image:

The images of the photograph and signature must be uploaded correctly. The images will be used on the admit card and rank card as well. The format for the image is must be as prescribed by the board. The candidates have to upload the images of the photograph of the candidate, signature of the candidate and signature of father or mother or guardian.

Points to Remember While Uploading the Image:

  • The Candidate must follow the above-mentioned guideline while submitting the images
  • The photograph should have the name of the candidate and the date of capturing on it.
  • The front face of the candidate must be visible clearly
  • The candidate must avoid features like red eye, glare, hat, caps etc to get a clear vision
  • The signature must be done on a white clear paper with a dark black or blue pen.

Steps to Change the Discrepancy in previously Uploaded Images:

If the candidate has already uploaded an image which has discrepancy, then he or she must rectify it within the given timeframe. Here is the step by step guidance on how to remove the discrepancy on the image.

  1. Visit the official website of JEE: https://jeemain.nic.in/
  2. Select the link ‘Remove Discrepancy in Uploaded Images’ from the left hand panel of the homepage.
  3. The Log In page will open on the screen
  4. The candidate has to insert the Application Number, Password and Security Pin in the given space.
  5. Now click on the Login button
  6. Now select the image you want to rectify
  7. Upload the new image instead
  8. Now take a print out of the revised application form for future use.

Guidelines for Changing Images:

  • The candidate can change the mode of pen and paper to computer but they cannot change the mode from computer based to pen and paper.
  • The candidates who have earlier applied for one paper can apply both by paying the application fees.
  • The fees will not be refunded in any situation
  • This correction facility is available for one time only.
  • This facility is available to the candidates only who have done the payment and completed all the steps
  • You can also get the chance to edit the Aadhaar card details.
  • If you have submitted more than one application form; "at the time of issuing admit card JEE (Main) both the application of a candidate (which appear to be similar) are merged and only one admit card is issued".
