5 Important Points to Notice Before Applying for JEE Main Exam 2018

The registration for Joint Entrance Examination of JEE Main Exam 2018 will start from 1st December 2017. The CBSE will conduct the examination in April 2018. The aspirants, who want to pursue B. Tech, B.E and B. Arch degree from IITs, NITs and CFTIs and some other leading engineering colleges, must register themselves for the exam. The candidate must provide all the information like personal details, educational qualification and other details during the application process. The application process will close on 1st January 2018. Any admission after the date will not be considered.

Online Application: The Application process of JEE Main Exam is in online only. The candidates must ensure themselves that they are filling the original application form from the official website (www.jeemain.nic.in). The instructions for the filling up the form will be there on the website. The candidates must follow them and carry out the process accordingly. Neither JEE nor CBSE will carry out the verification process for the submitted documents. So it is advisable for the candidates to insert all the information carefully and furnished all the proper documents. The information which you need to provide is nationality, state, state from where the candidate has appeared for the 12th exam, identification type, Aadhaar card number, name of the candidate, date of birth, gender, security pin and exam related details.

Required Documents: In the time of filling up the forms, the candidates need to require uploading scanned copies of some documents along with the application form. The required documents for JEE exam application are Class X final marks sheet, Class XII marks sheet (only for the 12th passed out students), caste certificate for OBC, SC and ST, domicile certificate, passport size photograph, signature (both students’ and guardians’) and thumb impression. The candidate must have valid email id for future communication.    

Photo Size for JEE Mains 2018 Application Form: You need to upload a passport size photograph, along with the signatures of the student and mother/father/guardian of the student and the thumb impression. The images should be in the JPG or JPEG format. The Name and Date of taking the image have to mention by the student.

  • The scanned photo size for the JEE Main Exam application is 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm  (4 kb to 40 kb)
  • The scanned signature size for the JEE Main Exam application is 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm  (1 kb to 30 kb)
  • The scanned thumb impression size for the JEE Main Exam application is 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm  (1 kb to 30 kb)

Fees: The candidates can pay in the online or offline mode for the application of JEE Main Exam. The students who want to pay via online mode can complete the process in net banking/debit card/credit card. And for offline mode, you need to submit e-challan in time of application of the Canara Bank/Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank.

Aadhaar Card: According to the CBSE, the Aadhaar card has become mandatory since 2017 JEE exam. It will help to trace the accuracy of the details of the candidates. It can be used to distribute the examination center in a hassle-free manner. Aadhaar card can shun the requirements of producing many documents for the verification. According to the CBSE official notice; ‘Candidates, who are in possession of Aadhaar, shall enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in the online application for JEE (Main) 2018 for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication thereof.’ For the candidates who have enrolled for the Aadhaar card but have not get the copy can enter the enrollment number instead. The students, who still don’t have the Aadhaar card, visit the nearest enrollment center as soon as possible, apply for the Aadhaar card and insert the enrollment number. This is a mandatory step except for the candidates of Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. All the candidates from these three states can produce the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid government identification number.
