The online scholarship portal of the Government of Maharashtra is known as Aaple Sarkar DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) or MahaDBT. The Mahadbt portal offers single access to all the scholarship programmes offered by different departments of the state government. There are approximately 38 post-matric scholarships on the Aaple Sarkar DBT portal. The portal is designed for implementing and disbursing scholarships within Maharashtra. This also helps in easy application and document submission. Here are the complete details for MahaDBT Scholarship 2021 eligibility, application process, documents requirement, and more.

Mahadbt Latest Update - The last date for application acceptance for the year 2020-21 has been extended till 30th June 2021. Earlier, the last date for application submission was 31st May 2021.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship

  • Student must belong to the SC category
  • Must be studying in class 11th or 12th
  • Must have secured 75% and more in class 10th
  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra

Students who secure at least 75% in the SSC exam and take admission in class XI will get a monthly scholarship of ₹ 300 for 10 months for two years.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability

  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra
  • Must be 40% or above disability
  • Must be studying in a recognised institute.
  • Those who have a Maharashtra domicile and are studying outside the state are also eligible.
  • Those pursuing PG in the medical field but not allowed to practice out of the institute are also eligible.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Scheme

  • Should have Maharashtra domicile
  • Should belong to Maharashtra State Border of Karnataka State Border
  • Annual family income should not be more than ₹ 8 lakh
  • Those belonging to the General category.
  • Have taken admission in a government/ AICTE approved course
  • There must not be 2 year gap during the course
  • Must have given all semester exams.

If family income is up to ₹ 2.5 lakh - 100% tuition fee waived for government and non-government aided courses

If family income is up to 8 lakh - 50% tuition fee will be given for government and non-government aided courses.

100% and 50% examination fee will be paid for the non-professional and professional courses.

Assistance to Meritorious Students Scholarship - Junior Level

  • Class 11th and 12th students are eligible
  • Should have a DHE sanctioned letter
  • Maharashtrian students studying outside Maharashtra are also eligible.

Junior-level scholarship - up to ₹ 3,000

Senior-level scholarship - up to ₹ 7,000

Education Concession to the Wards of Ex-Servicemen

  • Son/ daughter/ wife/ widow of ex-servicemen are eligible.
  • Must be enrolled in a government-aided college.
  • Those having Maharashtra domicile and studying outside the state are also eligible.

College dress allowance and books allowance of up to ₹ 445

Eklavya Scholarship

  • Degree in Law, Commerce, Arts with a minimum of 60% marks
  • Degree in Science with a minimum of 70% marks
  • Annual income of the applicant’s parent should not be more than 75,000
  • Applicants must be a resident of Maharashtra. Those  (with Maharashtra domicile) studying outside the state are also eligible.
  • Should not be doing any part-time or full-time job.

State Government Open Merit Scholarship

  • Must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
  • Must have enrolled in Science, Commerce, Arts, and Law courses

₹ 100 per month will be deposited directly into the applicant's account.

Scholarship to Meritorious Students Possessing Mathematics/ Physics

  • Class 12th with Science stream with at least 60% marks and more than 60% in Mathematics and Physics.
  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra state. Those studying outside Maharashtra are not eligible.

₹ 100 per month will be paid directly to the candidate's bank account.

Government Vidyaniketan Scholarship

  • Passed class 10th exam with minimum 60% marks.
  • Must have passed class 10th from the State Government Vidyanikethan only.

₹ 100 per month will be paid.

State Government Dakshina Adichatra Scholarship

  • Must have a graduation degree from a non-agriculture University only.
  • Applicants must be residents of Maharashtra

₹ 250 per month will be

Government Research Adichatra

  • Must have a postgraduate degree with 60% marks.
  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.

Education Concession to the Children Freedom Fighter

  • Son/ daughter/ wife/ widow of freedom fighters.
  • Candidates must be a resident of Maharashtra

₹ 50 per month for PG courses and ₹ 60 per month for Engineering courses.

Book Allowance: ₹ 200 per annum for PG courses and ₹ 400 per annum for Engineering courses

Jawaharlal Nehru University Scholarship

  • Maharashtrian students who have studied UG and PG courses at JNU

₹ 8,000 per month as scholarship amount + ₹ 10,000 extra annually

Assistance to Meritorious students Scholarship - Senior Level

  • Class 11th and 12th students are eligible.
  • Maharashtrian students studying out of Maharashtra can also apply.

Junior-level scholarship amount is up to ₹ 2,300.

Senior-level scholarship amount is up to ₹ 72,000.

Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojana (DHE)

  • Should have a domicile of Maharashtra
  • For professional courses, children of registered labour or Alpabhudarak or both are eligible
  • Annual family income must not exceed ₹ 8 lakh

For Professional Courses

₹ 30,000 for 10 months will be paid to students belonging to marginal landholder families with annual income up to ₹ 8 lakh.

Students must be studying in PMRDA/ MMRDA/ Aurangabad/ Nagpur city.

Those whose annual family income is up to ₹ 1 lakh will get ₹ 10,000 for 10 months.

 

For Non-Professional Courses

Scholarship worth ₹ 2,000 for 10 months for those whose family income is up to ₹ 1 lakh per annum.

  • Only two children from a family are allowed to avail the scheme in an academic year.
  • Total family income should not exceed ₹ 8 lakh per annum.

50% of Tuition Fee and 50% of Exam Fee

Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojana (DTE)

  • Applicant should be an Indian national.
  • Should have domicile of Maharashtra.
  • Should be admitted to professional and Technical courses.
  • Candidates must be admitted to Professional and Technical courses.
  • Only two children from a family are allowed to avail the scheme in an academic year.
  • Total family income should not exceed ₹ 8 lakh per annum.

For Children of Registered Labour/ Alpa Bhu Dharak (Marginal Land Holder)

  • ₹ 30,000 for 10 months for students in institutes in PMRDA/ MMRDA/ Nagpur/ Aurangabad.
  • Scholarship of ₹ 20,000 for 10 months for students in other areas.

For Students whose Annual Family Income is up to ₹ 8 Lakh

  • Those who are studying in institutes in PMRDA/ MMRDA/ Nagpur/ Aurangabad city will get ₹ 10,000 for 10 months
  • For institutes in other areas, ₹ 8,000 scholarship will be given for 10 months.

Group D - ₹ 320 per month for hostellers and ₹ 190 per month for non-hostellers

Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT students

  • Applicants must belong to the VJNT category.
  • Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
  • Annual family income must not exceed ₹ 8 lakh.
  • Those enrolled in degree courses in Health Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy Development are eligible.

100% tuition fee and exam fee are reimbursed to applicants.

Maintenance Allowance to VJNT and SBC students studying in professional courses and Living in Campus Hostels

  • Should belong to VJNT and SBC category.
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹ 1 lakh.
  • Should have enrolled in professional courses such as Medical, Engineering, Veterinary, Architecture, etc.
  • Should be admitted to hostels in professional colleges.

₹ 700 per month for 4 to 5 years of course.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship for VJNT & SBC category students studying in 11th and 12th class

  • Applicants must belong to Vimukta Jatis, Nomadic Tribes, and Special Backward Classes.
  • Candidates must be studying in class 11th and 12th.
  • Applicants must be residents of Maharashtra.

₹ 300 per month for 10 months as scholarship

Post Matric Scholarship to OBC students

  • Applicant must belong to the OBC category
  • Applicants need 75% attendance.
  • Applicant must be pursuing education courses approved by the government

Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance Allowance

  • Students must have taken admission in MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS courses in government-aided colleges.
  • Students must have taken admission in hostels in Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Aurangabad
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹ 8 lakh
  • Student’s parents should be registered labourers.

Hostel maintenance allowance up to ₹ 3,000 per year for those pursuing courses in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, and Nagpur and ₹ 2,000 for those in other locations.

Students whose parents are registered labour shall receive ₹ 30,000 per year for regions such as Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, and Nagpur.

Scholarship for Students of Minority Communities pursuing Higher and Professional courses (DTE)

  • Applicant should be an Indian national.
  • Must have a domicile of Maharashtra
  • Must have passed SSC from Maharashtra state
  • Must be admitted to Professional and Technical courses
  • Total annual income of the family must be less than or equal to ₹ 8 lakh

Scholarship of ₹ 25,000 per annum must be given.

Scholarship for Students of Minority Communities pursuing Higher and Professional courses (DMER)

  • Those enrolled in medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS.
  • Annual family income must not exceed ₹ 8 lakh
  • Applicant must have a domicile of Maharashtra

MahaDBT Portal - Required Documents

The following documents are required for applying for different scholarship programmes under the MahaDBT scheme.

  • Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Slip
  • HSC and SSC certificates
  • Fee receipt

  • Income Certificate (provided by Tehsildar)
  • College bonafide certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Hostel Certificate (if applicable)
  • CAP allotment letter (for Department of Higher Education and Department of Technical Education scholarships)

MahaDBT Scholarships - Application Process

Candidates can apply for the scholarship scheme through the Aaple Sarkar DBT portal. The portal is run by the Maharashtra government where details of all the schemes are provided. From the 2018-19 session, the government has made the Aadhaar card a mandatory document for application submission. Here is the detailed process for application submission.

  • Visit the official website of the Aaple Sarkar DBT portal at mahadbtmahait.gov.in.
  • Click on the scholarship you want to apply for under the Post Matric Scholarship section.
  • Click on the New Applicant Registration button.
  • Provide the details such as name, password, email Id, mobile number, etc. and click the Register button.
  • After this, you are required to verify the email ID and mobile number. It is mandatory. Click on the ‘Get OTP for Email ID Verification’ and ‘Get OTP for Mobile Number Verification’ options to complete the verification process.
  • After successful registration, you will receive your login details.
  • Now, log in using the credentials.
  • After successful login, provide the Aadhaar number and proceed.
  • Authenticate the Aadhaar number with your selected option.
  • Now, the dashboard will appear with the available scholarships.
  • Select your preferred scholarship and click the ‘Apply’ button.
  • Provide all important details to complete the profile.
  • After completing the profile, again select your preferred scholarship.
  • The application form will appear on the screen. Fill in all the required details.
  • Upload the necessary documents.
  • Check all the details carefully and submit the application.

MahaDBT 2021 - Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Is an Aadhaar card mandatory for a DBT scholarship?

Yes. Aadhaar card ensures that the benefit is transferred to the right candidate and no one can impersonate the identity.

Question 2: Can the MahaDBT application form be edited?

Yes. But only if the concerned institute sends back the application to students for modifications.

Question 3: How long will the OTP be valid?

The OTP will be valid for 30 minutes.

Question 4: Can I check the status of the scholarship application after submission?

Yes. Click on the ‘application Tracking Menu’ and provide your application ID for checking the application status.

Question 5: How will I know if the DBT is done or not?

When the DBT scholarship amount is transferred to the candidate's bank account, the same will be intimated via SMS on candidates registered mobile number. Make sure your mobile number is updated with the bank. You can also check the transfer using ATM or internet banking.
