The Department of Corporate Law Society, National Law University, Jodhpur is delighted to inform you that the application window for 3rd Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Competition 2018 is now open. She was the genius corporate law enthusiast, who gets recruited in India’s Tier-1 law firms. The winner of the competition will receive prize money up to ₹ 25,000. 3rd Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Competition is open to all commendable aspirants pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate law degree from any law university/ college/ school which are recognized by the Bar Council of India. The scholarship aimed to foster the culture of corporate law and deliver lectures on the development and emerging trends of commercial and corporate practices.

About the Program:

National Law University, Jodhpur provides a platform for the praiseworthy students who wish to deliver the best and want excel in their respective field. For 3rd Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Competition 2018-19, participants need to write and submit an essay on one of the following topics:

  2. Reverse piercing of the Corporate Veil – an unexplored phenomenon in India
  3. Fugitive economic offenders and non-performing assets – a need for banking reforms?
  4. The future of cryptocurrency in India

  • Undergraduates or postgraduates student who get admission in any law school/college/university recognized by the Bar Council of India. 
  • Applications are inviting from all over India.
  • For the participation, candidates need to submit a write-up on one of the following topics:

Steps to Apply for 3rd Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Competition 2018:

First of all, the candidate needs to register themselves for the essay writing competition.

For the registration process:

  • Mail your entry as a 'Consent of Participation' and send it to cls.nluj@gmail.com
  • Apart from this send a bona fide certificate from the applicant’s university with the following information:
  1. Name of the participant:
  2. Year and Course (UG/PG):
  3. Name of the University:
  4. Contact Phone Number:
  5. Address (for delivery of the certificate):

For the submission process:

  • Submit your essay through the same mailing address i.e. cls.nluj@gmail.com
  • An applicant needs to name the file as “Participant’s name_Topic”.
  • An email must contain the subject line of “Submission: Pranita Mehta Essay Competition, 2018”.
  • Finally, send your entry.

Guidelines for Submission of Application:

  1. The essay submission should be sent only in MS-Word (.docx/.doc) format.  
  2. The piece of work must be submitted only in the English language.  
  3. The submission shall be typewritten in an A4 sized document with a 1-inch margin on all sides.
  4. The essay should be written in Times New Roman Font Style.
  5. The main text must follow the font size 12 and footnotes shall be written in font size 10.
  6. Candidates need to write an essay within a word limit of 3,000 words only.
  7. The abstract of an essay must be not more than the 300-word limit.
  8. Entries which contain any form of plagiarism shall be going for disqualification.
  9. Copyright of the submission shall remain with CLS.
