The government of Odisha offers another scholarship program to help minor communities of the state. Every year the branch of Other Backward Classes Welfare Department collaborate with ST & SC Development and Minority division to organize the Prerana Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the students of Odisha region. Prerana Scholarship Scheme is designed with an objective to uplift the socio-economic conditions of minor communities and works with an aim to facilitate faster and efficient scholarship application and timely payment of scholarship amount to the eligible scholar’s bank account.

The scheme started with a motive to provide a level playing field for the economically weaker students of the state and help them to endure their dreams. Under this fellowship the Odisha Govt. provides an opportunity by giving financial assistance to minor communities who are not eligible to continue their studies. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and want to chase an opportunity to pursue Post Matriculation/ Post-Secondary education can apply for Prerana Post Matric Scholarship 2018 till 30 November 2018.

Prerana is an initiative by the Government of Odisha and encourages people to empower through education. The scheme helps to lighten up the financial burden and supports students to get an opportunity in the competitive employment arena.

Eligibility Criteria 2018 for Prerana:

Eligibility Criteria for Post Matric Scholarship Scheme:

  • All the eligible candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC (Economically Backward Class) category should be the permanent resident of Odisha, India.
  • The annual income of the family from all sources of SC/ST meritorious students should not exceed the limit of ₹2, 50,000/- per annum.
  • The annual income of the family from all sources of EBC category applicants should not exceed the upper limit of ₹1, 00,000/- annually.
  • In case of OBC/SEBC category students the annual family income of the parent/guardians from all sources should not exceed the limit of ₹1, 00,000/- per annum.
  • It is mandatory for the OBC/SEBC applicants to secure at least 50% marks in the previous examination.
  • The students should continue their Post Matriculation Education in any general/technical or professional courses in Government Institute or any Government recognized Private Institutes.
  • The applicant must have to continue his/her higher study in Government institute only.
  • This proposal for EBC is only applicable for GENERAL category students (Other than SC/ST/OBC/SEBC).

Financial Assistance Scheme to ST students studying in the National Level Institutes:

  • The candidate should be a student belonging to ST category.
  • For those ST category students the annual family income of the parent/guardians from all sources should not exceed the parameters of ₹2, 50,000/- on the annual basis.
  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Odisha region.
  • Candidates, who have applied for the Post Matric Scholarship under Financial Assistance Scheme, have to fulfil all the eligibility criteria before applying for the Prerana Post Matric Scholarship 2018-19.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Click here to open the official website to apply.
  2. Hit on “Downloads” tab and select “Applications for Prerana” link.
  3. Now, click on “Apply Online” tab.
  4. Register yourself and generate your email or password for the scholarship.
  5. Candidate’s needs to login in with their email id and password.
  6. Fill all the required details.
  7. Upload scanned images of required documents.
  8. Submit your entry and take a print out of your filled application form.
  9. In the end, send a duly filled application form along with supporting documents to the concerned Institutes, where students are studying for further processing.

Key Documents:

All the aspirants who wish to apply for Prerana Post Matric Scholarship 2018-19 scholarships have to keep scanned copies of some important documents with them. These necessary documents are uploaded by the candidates while filling the scholarship form via online mode.

Note:

  • Candidates have to be very careful while filling their Bank Account details or information in the online application form.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The student’s who are willing to apply for Prerana Post Matric Scholarship 2018 must provide the correct bank-account details (such as Account Number, IFSC Code Number) for the scheme.
  2. Applicant must have his/her personal bank account.
  3. Candidate must keep their application ID and password safe and secured as the application contains sensitive information about the applicant.
  4. The aspirant must provide correct information while filling the form because incorrect information will lead to rejection and appropriate legal action may be taken against him/her.
  5. Institution-wise applications will be processed on the first-come-first-serve basis for early disbursement of scholarship.
  6. If the applicant is renewing his/her scholarship application for the same course, he/she need not provide income and caste certificate again.
  7. Candidates must be ready with their roll number, year of passing & name of the board of matric exam at the time of online registration.
