Indian Oil, the energy giant gives 2600 scholarships to students of different streams. It is a merit-based program for Indian citizens. Students of Class 10+2, Engineering, MBBS, MBA, and ITI are eligible to avail the scholarship.

The reservation principle is applicable while determining the number of scholarships for different categories of students.

 Indian Oil Scholarship 2018 Latest Notification: The last date to apply for the Indian Oil Scholarship for the year 2018-19 is 31st October 2018 (tentative). Students will get the result by November 2018 on the official website. Scholarship award distribution will also take place in November 2018. Eligibility Criteria

Here’s the criterion for the different streams of students under the Indian Oil Scholarship: -

For studies after Class 10th/ ITI: Candidates belonging from different states of India get this reward. The minimum score requirement of class 10th exams for each category is: -

  • General Category Students – 65%.
  • Reserved Category Students (Girls/SC/ST/ OBC) – 60%
  • PwD -50%

For pursuing MBA: Students who are studying in a 2-year MBA Post-Graduation programme can apply for this scholarship. He/she should have the following minimum score in his/her graduation: -

  • General Category Students - 65%.
  • Reserved Category Students (Girls/SC/ST/ OBC) – 60%
  • PwD -50%

For pursuing MBBS: Students who are pursuing their 1st year in the MBBS course are eligible to apply for the program. The applicant requires having the following minimum qualifying marks in class 12th: -

  • General Category Students – 65%
  • Reserved Category Students (Girls/SC/ST/ OBC) – 60%
  • PwD – 50%

For pursuing Engineering: Students who are in their 1st year of the B. Tech course are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The applicant should have passed Class 12th with minimum qualifying marks of -

  • General Category Students -65%
  • Reserved Category Students (Girls/SC/ST/ OBC) - 60%
  • PwD – 50%

Additional Eligibility for Applicants from All Streams

  • The family income should not exceed the limit of ₹1,00,000. However, in case of tie preferences will be given to the students whose family income is ₹ 60,000.
  • The candidate should not be less than 15 years of age and should not be more than 30 years of age.
  • 49.5% of the total scholarships are reserved. Out of which 15% for SC; 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC.

  • Make sure the name in the application form is the same as that on the class 10th mark sheet.
  • Attach or upload the necessary documents.
  • Submit the form.

Terms and Conditions

The annual family income certificate, as well as merit, plays a role in the candidate’s selection. Each applicant must be aware of the following conditions before applying for the program: -

  • The candidates must ensure that they fill the application form with the same name and spelling as on the attached mark sheets and certificates.
  • The documents submitted must be proper and complete; any issue with those will lead to scholarship cancellation.
  • Attest the essential documents and get them duly signed by the Head of the institute and school.
  • Submit the marks obtained via CGPA/GPA/SGPA/OGPA/CPI etc.) in the format of percentage as guided by the Academic Board/Institution.
  • Any invalid Caste Certificate shall be considered void.
