IGNOU invites applications for admission in the January academic session 2018. Students can apply for taking admission in the Master's Courses, Bachelor's Courses, Certificate Courses and Diploma courses.

Students should understand the nature of the IGNOU entrance exam before pondering to study for the exam. IGNOU entrance exam is designed to test student’s general mental abilities and their aptitude for the particular course. In other words, the IGNOU entrance exam tests the mental calibre of students in two ways. Thus, a student should prepare for the exam keeping in mind both the ways of testing.

In the general mental ability section, questions are asked from Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. To enhance one’s general mental abilities, the student should prepare for each section separately. Remember, students need not acquire mastery in every section. They are expected to possess an average intelligence quotient in every section. So, it is important for them to study for each area of the exam.

  • How to prepare for Mathematics The questions in mathematics is of Class 10th level.  Students should try to solve questions in mathematics on a regular basis. It will increase their level of accuracy. It is only through the regular practice only that the student can score good marks in the mathematics. They can refer to any Mathematics books that are prescribed for students on the Class 10th level.
  • How to prepare for the Logical Reasoning The Logical Reasoning is one of the most exciting parts of the questioning areas. In the beginning, every student feel struck while solving the reasoning questions and often gives wrong answers. But, they should not get discouraged because reasoning questions are tricky. When they can develop basic concepts, they can solve reasoning questions easily. Afterwards, it becomes fun for them to solve such questions.
  • How to prepare for the General Awareness One of the major sections of the General Mental Ability is the General Awareness. The students are tested for their level of awareness about the world. It checked if the student is updated about the events happening around the world and within the country.  So, it is important that a student should read at least one newspaper daily. It will keep them abreast of all kinds of social, political, scientific, and economic events. If a student finds the time, then he/she can add one monthly magazine to his/her study list.
  • How to prepare for the specific subject Students should have a good knowledge of their subjects. They should be aware of all the basic concepts, important theories, principles, equations (if any) and different perspectives on any subject. It is important that students should have clarity on every topic of their subjects. During counselling sometimes, students are asked questions about their subjects.   • B.A/ B.Com A student should have done Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

A student should have qualified the BPP (Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme) from IGNOU.

  • B. Sc. – A student should have done Class 12th in Science or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
  • BSW A student should have passed Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

Or

A student should have qualified the BPP (Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme) from IGNOU.

  • BCA - A student should have done Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
  • Diploma in Tourism The applicant should have passed Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

Or

An applicant should have completed the BPP successfully.

  • Diploma in Dairy Technology The applicant should have passed Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

An applicant should have completed the BPP successfully.

For Courses on Master’s Level –

  • MCA The applicant should have done Bachelors of minimum 3 years. He/ she should have done Class 12th or graduation with mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • MBA The candidate should have completed Bachelors in any stream from a recognised university.
  • M.A. A candidate should have a Bachelors degree.
  • PG Diploma in Rural Development Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree.

Interested students can get the application form through one of the following ways –

  • They can visit the official website of the IGNOU www.ignou.ac.in and download the application form. The filled-in application form should be submitted along with the Demand Draft of ₹ 200.

  • Students can also purchase the application form from the IGNOU Regional Centres by paying ₹ 200 in cash.

Or

  • Students can get the IGNOU Application form 2018 by sending Demand Draft of ₹ 250.

How to Apply

  • Students can apply both online as well as offline.
  • For online applications, they should visit the official website of the IGNOU https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/Login.aspx.
  • Here, they should get registered by providing basic details like Name, Address, Age, Contact number and valid email id.
  • Upon successful registration, login id and password are sent to the candidate’s registered email id.
  • By entering the login id and password, candidates will be able to get access to the IGNOU application form 2018.
  • They should fill all specified columns of the application form with valid details.

IGNOU January Academic Session 2018: Admit Card

Candidates can get their IGNOU Admit Card online. They can download their admit card from the IGNOU official website 2 weeks before the exam date.  To download the admit card, candidates should enter their Registration Number, Name, and Date of Birth. The admit card contains candidate details like Name, Roll Number, Exam Date, Venue of the exam etc. It is mandatory for students to carry their admit cards at the examination centres. Without admit card, no candidate will be allowed to take the exam.

IGNOU January Academic Session 2018: Result Announcement

All results are announced on the official website of the IGNOU. The results are not sent to the candidates either through email or SMS. The results of different courses are announced at different dates.
