IGNOU 2021: Popularly called IGNOU, the Indira Gandhi National Open University is a distance learning national university providing admission through ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode. With more than four million students enrolled in its various programmes, IGNOU is claimed to be the largest university in the world. Working professionals, housewives, candidates residing in remote areas and persons with disabilities need not suppress their eagerness for high education. IGNOU 2021 offers them admission through the ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode.

Candidates wishing to pursue degree, diploma and certificate programmes need to sit for various entrance examinations. IGNOU exam 2021 is held twice a year. The first session is held in the month of January. The second session is conducted in the month of July. By clearing the exam, the applicants can get admissions in courses like B.Sc. Nursing, B.Ed., M.Ed., OPENMAT for management, advanced certificate, PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking, etc.

The exam is conducted in two sessions – January (for December Term End Examination - TEE) and July (for June Term End Examination). IGNOU 2021 Application Process:

The Indira Gandhi National Open University is going to release the common prospectus in January for all courses. Interested candidates are strictly instructed to read through the guidelines mentioned in the information bulletin and fill the application form in online mode. There will be no offline or hard copy of the application form provided for filling in the details of the form. Moreover, the application form will be available at the official portal of IGNOU. Remember, the Open University does not entertain correction facilities. Hence, all the applicants must ensure that the IGNOU 2021 application form is submitted correctly.

  • The application registration began in the month of March 2021.
  • There will be different dates for different programmes. So, the candidates must be careful while choosing the desired course. They need to carefully fill up all the details.
  • While filling the application form, you must possess the documents such as scanned copies of passport-size photograph, signature, DOB, BPL certificate, education as well as work experience, category certificate, etc.
  • Submit the form and get a username from IGNOU right in your email ID or mobile phone.

Step-by-step Guide to Apply for IGNOU Exam 2021:

  • Visit the official portal of IGNOU - http://www.ignou.ac.in
  • Check for the ‘Applicant Login’ tab. New users need to register themselves by clicking on the ‘Register Yourself’ link
  • Fill in the details as per the instructions are given and register
  • The candidates will receive the system generated user ID and password right in their registered email ID.
  • By using the login credentials, the applicants need to fill the application form. The details should be filled out carefully. Check twice when entering personal details, educational information, etc.
  • The next step demands you to upload the scanned images of photograph, signature, category certificate, qualification certificates, DOB, etc.
  • The next action that needs your attention is the payment of the application fee. Note that the payment mode is online.
  • After the payment is done, click on ‘Submit’.
  • Take the printout of the confirmation page for future use.

Application Fee Payment:

The application fee prescribed by IGNOU is ₹ 200/-. It can either be paid either through credit card, debit card, net banking or via DD in favour of IGNOU.

IGNOU 2021 Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

The courses offered by IGNOU are quite vast, so are the eligibility criteria and exam pattern. The main programmes offered by the Indira Gandhi National Open University are Doctoral Degree, M.Phil Programmes, Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, Certificate, PG and Advance Diploma, PG and Advance Certificate, Non-credit Programmes and Online Programmes.

As far as the exam pattern and syllabus are concerned, IGNOU has a different syllabus set for every course. If the exam has 100 marks, the duration would be 3 hours. If the exam carries 50 marks, it will be for 2 hours. The weightage of the theoretical exam is 70%, while the assignment weightage is 30%.

MCA

Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised board or university. If a student is preparing for his final year examination, he is eligible to apply.

BA/BSW/B.Com

10+2 or BPP from IGNOU or equivalent from any recognised university

MA (History/ Economics/English), MSW

To pursue a Master’s Degree course, candidates must showcase their graduation certificates from recognised institutes.

PGD in Rural Development

Bachelor’s Degree is the minimum education qualification required.

Diploma in Dairy Technology or Tourism Studies

BPP from IGNOU or 12th or equivalent certificate
