Particulars about the SBI PO 2018 Exam

Every year the SBI recruits Bank PO’s for its various bank branches across the nation. In the year 2016, the SBI selected 2,428 Bank Probationary Officers for its various branches. In the year 2018, the SBI is recruiting more numbers of candidates than the previous years.

•    Exam level –All India Level.

•    Mode of the exam- Computer based test.

•    Details about the salary – 

i)    Annual Salary Package- 7.55 lacs – 12.93 lakhs (depending upon the geographical factors of the location of the Bank branch.)

ii)    Basic Salary – ₹ 27,620/.

iii)    Increment – There will be four increments in the pay band 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

iv)    Facilities- As per the government rules in force, and officers will be given their D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances.

•    Clarification about the Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-2, Middle Management Grade Scale -2, Officer Junior Management Grade Scale-1 –

The candidate who finally qualifies the SBI PO Exam is inducted as a trainee for 2 years. During this period the candidate’s capabilities are measured. Most importantly, the candidate should pass the Officer’s level training. The successful candidates are inducted on the officer’s post, and their posting is confirmed as the Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-2. Whereas, those inducted candidates who fail to come up to the expected standards are given posting, but confirmed as the Officer Junior Management Grade Scale-1.

SBI PO Exam 2018 Pattern & Syllabus

  • The SBI PO 2017 Exam is a 3 stage exam.
  • On stage 1, there is a Preliminary exam, which carries 100 marks. It is merely qualifying in nature. A candidate should obtain the minimum qualifying marks to become eligible for the next stage Mains exam.
  • The Mains exam carries 250 marks. The marks scored by a candidate at this stage are added to the final score.
  • In the 3rd and the final stage of the exam, a Group discussion and Interview are conducted. It carries 50 marks.

SBI PO Exam 2018 Eligibility

  • A candidate should be an Indian citizen.
  • A candidate should not be less than 21 years of age and should not exceed 30 years of age.
  • There is an age relaxation for the Reserved category candidates. Here are details about the age relaxation for different categories of candidates-
    • OBC – 3 years
    • SC/ST- 5 years
    • PwD – Person with disability in General Category - 10 years; OBC category- 13 years; in SC/ST category - 15 years.
  • A candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from recognised University. TheChartered Accountants are also eligible to apply.
  • The candidates appearing in their final exams are also eligible to apply.

How To Apply 

  • A candidate should visit the official website of the SBI, i.e. to get the Application form.
  • A candidate should get registered first by providing his/her basic details like Name, Mobile number, and Address. 
  • Upon registration, login credentials will be sent to the candidate’s email id.    
  • By entering his/her login credentials, a candidate can access the Application form.
  • A candidate should fill the specified columns of the application form.
  • Upload the digital image of his/her Photo and Signature.
  • Pay the requisite application fee.

Other Details

Admit Card

Candidates can download their Admit Card from the SBI official website. They will be issued three Admit Cards at every stage of the exam. It is necessary to keep all admit cards until the completion of the exam.

 Result Announcement 

The results will be announced for every stage of the exam. It means SBI will announce three results. The first result will be for the Preliminary exams, the second for the Mains exam and finally, a merit list of the successful candidates will be prepared after the Group Discussion and Interview.
