GATE, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is conducted for admission to postgraduate and doctoral courses in engineering. The GATE 2021 examination dates are out and will be conducted between 05th to 14th February 2021. Here are the frequently asked questions related to the exam.

Question 1: What are the dates for GATE 2021 Exam?

The GATE 2021 Exam will be held on 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th February 2021. Each day it will be conducted in two sessions: Morning Sessions from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM and in the Afternoon Session from 2:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

Question 2: What is the eligibility criteria for GATE Exam?

The candidate should have done his Bachelors in Science or Engineering. From 2021, students belonging to arts background can also apply. Students in the final year of their graduation can also appear for the GATE Exam.

Question 3: If there is an age limit for GATE 2021 Exam?

No, there is no age limit for GATE Exam.

Question 4: Is it necessary to send the hard copy of Application form to the conduction authority?

No, there is no need to send the hard copy of the Application form to IIT Delhi. It should be submitted online only through GOAPS portal.

Question 5: How to track the status of online application form?

Candidates can track the status of their online application form with the help of their login credentials of GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System).

Question 6: Is it necessary to upload a photograph and signature as per the specified dimensions?

Yes, it is important to submit photograph and signature as per the required dimensions in the application form, otherwise, it will be rejected.

Question 7: Can any changes be made after submitting the online application form?

Yes, only a few changes are allowed after the form submission with a certain fee.

Question 8: If a candidate is in the final year of his degree but has not been given a mark sheet, will he be allowed to take up the exam?

Yes, he is eligible to take the GATE Exam, if he provides the provisional certificate or mark sheet of his earlier semesters.

Question 9: What identification proofs are accepted along with the Application form?

Following identification proofs are accepted – Passport, Voter Id, PAN Card, Aadhaar, College id, Employee id and driving license.

Question 10: How to make payment of application fee through the e-challan mode?

The candidate should take the print-out of the generated e-challan receipt and go to any branch of SBI and pay the required money. Bank may charge processing fees and other charges.
