Eligibility criteria for GATE Exam 2019
Age limit
There is no age limit for the candidates taking GATE examination
Nationality
The candidates with Indian citizenship are eligible for this exam. Apart from this, the candidates belonging to other countries—Singapore, U.A.E., Ethiopia, Sri-Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh are also eligible for this exam.
Educational qualifications
- B. Tech/ B.E /B.Arch/ B.Sc./diploma holders are requisite qualifications for this exam.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture (five-year duration) are eligible.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in science stream (4 years duration) are eligible.
- Candidates with Masters Degree in computer application, statistics, science and in any branch of Mathematics are also eligible to appear for this exam.
- Candidates, who have obtained degrees in engineering equivalent to B. Tech/B.E. from those institutions, which are recognised by MHRD/ AICTE / UPSC are also fit for Gate exams.
- Note: Candidates appearing in final year examinations of the courses mentioned above are also fit for Gate exam.
GATE Exam 2019 Application Process
The candidates applying for GATE 2019 exam need to go through the GATE Online Application Processing System. The process of applications starts with the registration of GOAPS. While registering themselves, candidates need to give their valid mobile numbers and email addresses and create a strong password. These two things are very important as they are used for communication purposes. After successful registration, candidates get an enrollment id. To have interaction with the administration of GATE, candidates can use the GOAPS interface and do the following things:
- Apply for the GATE exams
- Upload all the required documents—certificates, signature, photographs etc.
- Pay the application fee payment
- Now, track the status of the application form, whether it is accepted, rejected, under scrutiny etc.
- Get the admit card by downloading
- See result and download GATE scorecard
Application Fee for GATE 2019 Exam
Candidates are required to pay their fees through online mode by using either debit or credit card or net banking. Once deposited, the fee will be non-transferable and non-refundable.

Other details
Admit Card
- Candidates can download their admit cards from the online portal by entering their email addresses/enrollment ID and password.
- Admit cards will not be sent to candidates by email or post.
- Downloading of Gate hall ticket 2019 will start during the first week of January 2019.
- Before commencement of the exam, biometric information (fingerprints and photograph) of candidates will be taken.
- Candidates are advised to bring original ID proof along with admit card on the day of examination.
- Candidates should get admit cards in colour print.
GATE Exam 2019 Results
GATE 2019 results will be announced in the third week of March 2019 (tentative). The score will remain valid for three years from the date of announcement of result.

The scorecard will be provided to the passed candidates. It will be soon released after the declaration of results.
GATE scorecard will remain valid for three years after the declaration of the result.
Candidates are advised to download their scoreboard during the fourth week of March 2019.
