UPESEAT Exam - Application Process, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Admit Card, Result, and Counselling


University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) conducts the Engineering Aptitude Test (EAT) for admission in the B.Tech programmes offered by the institute. Candidates interested in the course are required to submit their completed applications well in time. However, before filling the application form, candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the course. Apart from UPESEAT, admission to B.Tech. courses in UPES is also conducted through JEE Main score and centralised counselling after class 12th. 80% of the seats are allotted through UPESEAT and the remaining 20% through JEE Main score or class 12th merit.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Syllabus

Questions in the UPES exam are asked as per the syllabus of class 11th and 12th. The UPESEAT syllabus 2020 will be similar to the CBSE syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. So, candidates can study from their course books. For the English section, candidates must practice reading comprehension, improve vocabulary and grammar. Int he Current Affairs section, questions will be asked from general knowledge and current events.

UPESEAT Exam 2020 Eligibility

Candidates who are interested in taking admission in UPES must check the eligibility conditions carefully before filling the application form. If any candidate is found to not have met any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature will be cancelled at any stage for the admission process.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for admission in UPES B.Tech. corse is 22 years i.e. the candidate should be born on or after 1st October 1998.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed class 10th and 12th with a minimum of 50% marks.

In class 12th, candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

UPESEAT Exam 2020 Application Process

The application forms for the UPESEAT 2020 exam are available on the official website. The applications can be submitted only through online mode. Candidates interested in applying for the exam must submit their completed application form before the last date i.e. 3rd May 2020. Here is the complete process for filling the application form.

Steps for filling the UPESEAT 2020 Application Form -

The online application form for the UPESEAT 2020 exam can be filled in the following phases:


  • Visit the official website - https://www.upes.ac.in.
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ button at the top right corner of the page.
  • Enter your details such as name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, nationality, course, city, and state.
  • Submit the details.
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP in the space provided and move to the next step.

Academic Qualification

  • Enter the details of your class 12th and class 10th examination such as the board of passing, year of passing, CGPA, etc.

Fee Payment

  • Select the mode of payment and follow the steps to pay the application fee. The application form can be paid via Debit card/ Credit card/ Internet banking/ Paytm.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Admit Card

UPESEAT 2020 admit card will be released by the exam conducting authority on 18th April 2020. Candidates can download the admit card only after completing the slot booking process. UPES will intimate the candidates for slot booking via email around two months before the exam. Candidates are required to book slots for the examination by selecting exam center, time, and date. After the slot is booked successfully, candidates can download the admit card. The admit card contains details such as exam timing, date, venue, instructions, etc.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Answer Key

The UPESEAT 2020 exam answer key will not be released by the exam conducting authority. The other institutes might release the answer key. If the answer key for the 2020 exam will be released by the exam conducting authority, it will be made available on the official website.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Result

The UPESEAT 2020 result will be declared on 9th June 2020. The result will be made available online. Candidates can log-in using their user ID and password to download the result. The result will comprise of section-wise marks, aggregate marks, overall rank, and category-wise rank of the candidate.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Counselling

Candidates who will qualify the UPESEAT 2020 exam will be called for the counselling process. The registration process for the counselling will be online while the counselling will be conducted offline. Candidates are required to participate in the counselling process for seat allotment. Carry all the required documents for the document verification process. After the successful document verification, the seat will be allotted to the candidate. Candidates must accept the allotted seats by paying the requisite admission fee. Seats will be allotted as per the candidate’s rank and preference. The counselling will be held in Dehradun only.
