  • For all Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses, there will be a Pen and Paper -based exam forGAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Creative Ability Test).
  • For M.F Tech and B.F Tech, there will be a Computer-based exam.
  • In the B. Des and M. Des, there will be a Pen and a Paper-based test for CAT and GAT. The CAT will have 70% weightage while the GAT will have 30% weightage in the overall exam.

NIFT Exam 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

  • To pursue M.Des and MFM program, candidates should have done Graduation from a recognised University or Board. Candidates in the final year of Graduation are also eligible to appear for the exam
  • To pursue M.F Tech, candidates should have a Bachelor’s in B.F Tech or B. Tech from a recognised University or Board.
  • There is no age limit for the NIFT Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Course

  • A candidate should not be more than 23 years of age by October 2018. However, there is an age relaxation of 5 years for the Reserved Category candidate.
  • A candidate should have done Standard 12th or equivalent from a recognised University or Board.
  • A candidate with a diploma of 3 or 4 years is also eligible to apply for the exam.

NIFT Exam 2018 Application Process

Candidates can get the application form online from November 2017 to January 2018.

How To Apply

  • A candidate should visit the official website of the NIFT, www.nift.ac.in or http://applyadmission.net/NIFT2017.
  • He/she should get registered on the NIFT website by entering their basic details like Name, Address, Email id and Mobile number.
  • Upon successful registration, a candidate will be given Registration id with Login ID and password.
  • By entering these details, a candidate will be able to access the application form.
  • He/ she should fill all specified columns of the application form.
  • A candidate should also upload the scanned copies of the Photograph and Signature in the JPEG format. The size should not exceed 50 KB.
  • Along with the application form, it is important to pay the application fee. The application fee can be paid through the online as well as offline mode.
  • Before submitting the application form, a candidate should check it to make corrections for any error.

Other Details

NIFT 2018 Exam: Admit Card

Candidates can get their admit card online. They can download it from the official website of the NIFT. The admit card contains the Name, Roll number, details of venue of the exam and the date and time of the exam. It is mandatory to bring the admit card at the center of the exam. Without the admit Card candidates will not be allowed to take up the exam.

NIFT 2018 Exam: Result Declaration

After the written test, the successful candidates will be required to appear in the Group Discussion/ Interview. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in the written test and the group discussion. After that, candidates will be called for counselling and allocation of seats will be made in different colleges.
