The creative test is conducted for both UG and PG programmes to test intuitive ability, innovative use of colour, illustration skills, and observation power in concept development and design ability.
Situation Test
The situation test evaluates the candidate’s innovative ability and skills of handling material in a given situation. NIFT Entrance Exam Preparations 2021
The NIFT exam involves a test of creativity skills such as observation, drawing, writing, and visualization. It is a highly competitive exam and thus candidates need to follow a strategy for preparation. Here are some tips:
Work on your Observation and Visualization Skills
The exam tests the candidate on their imaginative and creative skills. So, practice sketching a lot. Try new stuff. Also, avoid using an eraser. This helps in improving the sketch quality. Search for sketching options in journals, magazines, newspapers, and websites.
Work on Improving Speed
Only having good drawing skills is not enough for the exam. Having speed is very important to get through the NIFT exam as the exam involves showcasing your creativity and imagination in a limited time.
Prepare for GAT
GAT involves testing of Communication Ability, English, Analytical Ability, Quantitative Ability, and General Knowledge. There are preparation books for the same. Candidates can buy a book and practice from the same. For the current affairs section, read the newspaper daily. Also, read fashion related books and magazines for fashion industry updates.
Solve Previous Years’ Papers
Try to solve as many previous years’ papers as you can. Solving previous years’ papers is the best way to prepare well for the exam. It helps in understanding the pattern, question type, etc. Solving the papers also helps in increasing the speed and accuracy.
Self-Care
Self-care is also necessary while preparing for the exam. Candidates must do regular exercise, yoga, and meditation to relax the mind and improve competition. Sleeping for 6 to 7 hours is also necessary for a refreshed mind. Involve in any physical activity. Eat healthy, home-cooked food.
