CBSE Made Important Announcement for NEET 2018 Aadhaar Card Issues
After queries of students on different details in Aadhaar card and board certificates, CBSE has released a public notice providing the solution.
23 February 2018: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notice regarding the mismatch in Aadhaar card information and qualification certificates on 22 Febraury. This is in regard with the queries posted by several candidates who were facing difficulty in filling up the NEET application form due to difference in details of Aadhaar card and class X and XII certificates. The public notice states:
“It has been clearly explained in the Information Bulletin as well as in FAQ hosted on website, that what action is desired from the candidates in case of mismatch of data in the two records i.e. Aadhaar Card and School/Board records.”
Here is what you need to do if you find yourself in the same situation:
- Complete your NEET (UG) 2018 registration as per the details provided in your Aadhaar card.
- Thereafter, take the requisite steps to make the details in both the records (Aadhaar Card and Board certificates) same.
Large number of candidates has submitted their online applications successfully following these instructions. The Board (CBSE, exam conducting authority) has advised the applicants to follow the instructions issued by the CBSE.

Aadhaar Card Exception
Candidates belonging to the states of Assam/Meghalaya/J&K are exempted from the Aadhaar card mandate. They can use either of their passport number, bank account number, ration card number or any other identity card number issued by the government of India. Such candidates should select their examination centre in their states only.
Candidates belonging to PIO/OCI/NRI category are also exempted from the Aadhaar card mandate for NEET. Such candidates can use their passport details for NEET application process.
