CAT 2018 Exam Date Released - Official Notification in July

CAT 2018 official notification to be released in July August. Exam to be conducted on 25 November 2018.

10 May 2018: As per the notification flashing on the official CAT website - https://iimcat.ac.in/, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 is scheduled to be held on 25 November 2018 (Sunday). The official notification will be released in the month of July or August. The official update reads,

"CAT 2018 will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Detailed notification for CAT 2018 may be released in July August 2018 (IIMs reserve the right to change the test date in case of exceptional circumstances)."

Last year, the official CAT notification was released in the month of July and the online registration process began from 09 August. Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow was the exam conducting authority for CAT 2017.

CAT 2018 Eligibility

Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons With Disability) from a recognised University.

Candidates who will be appearing in the final year examination of a bachelor’s degree programme or those who are waiting for the final result are also eligible to appear for the examination.

CAT 2018 Application Fee

Interested candidates can apply for the Common Admission Test through the official website on payment of the requisite application fee amount. Here are the details of category-wise application fee:

• For General (Unreserved category) – ₹ 1800/-
• For SC, ST, and PWD (Reserved categories) – ₹ 900/-

Fee paid is non-refundable. Candidates are required to pay the application fee only once irrespective of the number of institutes they are applying for. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are required to upload the scanned copy of their caste certificates at the time of online registration.

CAT 2018 Result

According to previous year’s schedule, CAT result is usually declared in the second week of January.

The Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for determining the eligibility of graduate candidates for admission to management courses offered by various IIMs. CAT scores are also accepted by other B-Schools.
