RRC Group D Recruitment 2019 Application Form, Number of Vacancies and Post

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and the Railway Recruitment Cell (RCC) has released a short notice on the respective websites of regional Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for recruitment at Level-1 (Group D) posts and other posts in Indian Railways. Approximately 1,30,000 posts are to be filled for the following posts:

  • Non-Technical Popular Categories
  • Para-Medical Staff
  • Ministerial and Isolated Categories
  • Level -1 Posts

 The first three categories combine for approximately 30,000 vacancies. The registration process for these categories has already started of the regional websites of the railway recruitment boards. Here, we will cover the details of Level-1 (Group D) posts. Level-1 posts include Track Maintainer Grade IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments, zonal railways, and production units of Indian Railways. The online registration process for approximately 1 lakh Level-1 posts will begin from 12th March 2019. The recruitment process will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC).

Candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam. Here are all the important details related to eligibility, exam pattern, application process, fee, and others.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit -

Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not be more than 31 years of age as on 1st July 2019.

Educational Qualification -

Passed class 10th (Matriculation) plus/or ITI from any institute recognized by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT)/State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT)

OR

National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Refer to ANNEXURE-A in the CEN02/2018 for educational qualification against different posts.

Selection Procedure

The entire recruitment process will be completed in the following phases:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Fitness Test

Exam Pattern

The Computer Based Test (CBT) will consist of 100 multiple choice questions which are to be attempted in 90 minutes duration. The questions will be asked from the subjects Mathematics, General Science, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness.

Only those candidates who qualify the CBT will be eligible for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The test is of qualifying nature and is mandatory. The criteria for PET are:

For male candidates:

As per the official notice:

  • Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

For female candidates:

As per the official notice:

  • Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

After qualifying the PET, candidates will be called for the Document Verification process. If any information is found to be false, the candidature will be cancelled.

Appointment to various posts will be subject to passing the Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration.

Candidates are advised to keep a check on the official website for updates related to the recruitment process. Use your registered Id and password to access/check anything.

RRB Group D Application Process

The applications for the exam will be submitted only through ONLINE mode. Candidates are required to visit the official website of the respective Railway Recruitment Cell for applying for the exam. Here are the steps to be followed:

  • Go to the official website of the Railway Recruitment Cell (refer to the table below)
  • Find the ‘Click here to apply for CEN01/2019’ link.
  • Register for the exam, a registration Id and password will be generated and sent to your registered email id/mobile number.
  • Login with the registration id and password and complete the application form.
  • Enter the details asked for, upload scanned images of photograph and signature, make fee payment and submit the completed form.
  • Take a printout of the complete application form and retain it until the recruitment process is over. 

Application Fee -

Candidates are required to pay the application fee as per their category:

  • For General/OBC – ₹ 500
  • For SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/PWD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward classes – ₹ 250

Application fee can be paid through both Online and Offline modes. Additional bank charges/transaction fee will be paid by the candidate.

RRB Group D 2018 Result

The result of the Group D examination will be released online on the official website. The result of CBT is likely to be released after two months of the examination. However, there is no official schedule for PET and other recruitment procedure. Candidates will be informed in due course of time. Individual results can be checked through the registered email id and password.
