NTA Alloted Four More Exam Centres to Kashmir Valley Aspirants for the NEET UG 2019 Exam
In a recent update related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the National Testing Agency (NTA) has increased the number of test centres for the Kashmir Valley region. A total of four additional centres have been allotted to accommodate all the 9,250 aspirants from the region.
The agency has already set up centres for 5,750 candidates in the Valley and the remaining 3,500 were demanding for additional centres so that they don’t have to travel outstation for the exam. Thus, the agency has accepted their demands.
As Official said, “Four additional centres allotted now will accommodate the remaining 3500 aspirants so that none of this year’s NEET aspirants from the Valley have to travel outside to take the test.”
The NTA officials further said that the aspirants have been intimated about the same through SMS on Thursday. The details of centres allotted to them have been shared with them.
Additional NEET Exam Centres
The additional centres have been set up in the following areas:
- Kashmir University
- Green Valley Scool
- Gandhi Memorial College
- Kashmir Harvard School
After students’ demand for setting up additional centres in the valley, two advisors of the Jammu & Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and Mr. KK. Shama had taken the matter to the notice of the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry.
About NEET 2019
The NEET 2019 exam is scheduled to be conducted on 5th May 2019 (Sunday). It is the first time that the exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Till 2018, the exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NTA’s responsibility for conducting the exam will remain active result declaration and submitting the All India Merit List to the Directorate General Health Service (DGHS), GoI. Further, the counselling will be conducted by the DGHS for 15% All India Quota and rest by the State Counselling Authorities. The exam will be conducted through pen-and-paper based mode in 11 languages across the country. The exam is conducted for admission to medical and dental undergraduate courses.
