HPTET Exam

The Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HPTET) organized by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is a state board exam conducted to appoint skilled teachers for both Private and Government schools of the state.   • The HPTET 2021 June exam notification has been released on 15th April 2021.
  • The HP TET 2021 Application Form released on 24th May 2021.
  • The last date to fill the HP TET application form is 13th June 2021.
  • Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala has released the TET result 2020 (November session) on 2nd February 2021. For the year 2020, the November session exam was conducted in December, while the June term was conducted in August due to the COVID-19 situation.

HPTET 2021 Exam Highlights -

  • The Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2021 is an offline Pen-paper based exam that consists of objective type questions.
  • The exam paper will have a sum total of 150 questions which will be completed within the duration of 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Talking about the marking scheme of the HPTET 2021 exam, an apprentice will get a +1 mark for every correct answer. However, no marks will be deducted for any incorrect answer.

HPTET Exam 2021 Eligibility

The HPTET 2021 exam is conducted for the major 8 streams, like- Shastri TET, Language Teacher (English/Hindi/Urdu), JBT, TGT (Medical/Non-Medical/Arts), and others. The eligibility norms of HPTET 2021 are different for all the courses. Check out the below-mentioning table to have a clear idea about the outline of eligibility.

TGT (Non-Medical)

Passed 10+2 studies or equivalent with a minimum aggregate score of 50% and holds a B.Sc. or B.Ed. or relevant Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks in elementary education.

TGT (Arts)

Must have cleared 12th board exams with minimum scores of 45% and have a degree in B.com., B.A. or Bachelor degree with 50% marks in elementary education.

TGT (Medical)

Obtain 50% marks in class 12th with a B.Sc. (Medical) or B.Ed. or Bachelor degree in elementary education with 50% marks.

Language Teacher

Apprentice must have a degree in Hindi or currently enrolled in the final year of diploma course (2 years).

Punjabi / Urdu Language Teacher

Must hold a degree in Punjabi or Urdu or currently enrolled in the final year of diploma course (2 years).

JBT (Junior Basic Training)

Must have passed class 12th with 50% marks and a Degree/Diploma in elementary education with 50%.


HPTET Exam 2021 Application Process

Students who are willing to work as a teacher in different subjects in a government or private sector school can send their entries for the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HPTET) 2021 online. The application form for the June session is available on the official website from 24th May 2021.

Steps to apply online for the HPTET 2021 exam -

  • Open the official website for HPTET 2021 Exam.
  • Click on the ‘TET (June-2021)’ option under the ‘CET/Vacancies’ menu.
  • Click on the ‘Register’ link.
  • Fill in your personal information and other details without making any error.
  • Once you have filled the form, upload the scanned images of important documents viz. Photograph and signature.
  • Now pay the requested fee amount and submit your application.
  • Take a printout of your filled application form and keep it safe for future reference.

HP TET 2021 Application Form – Important Points

  • Candidates should fill their subject, category and sub-category in the online form carefully.
  • Candidates should fill in their name, date of birth, parents’ names etc as per their Class X certificate.
  • Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form for one subject.
  • Candidates planning to appear for more than one subject need to fill a separate application form and pay a separate application fee.
  • Application forms submitted through any other medium (fax, post, etc.) will be rejected.
  • Candidates should retain the application number as it will be used in all the subsequent account logins.

HPTET 2021 Application Fee

The HPTET 2021 Application submission fee window will open along with the registration process. Eligible aspirants can pay their requested amount through the online mode by using the Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking option. HPTET Selection Process 2021

The process of selection is based on applicants’ performance in the HPTET exam organized by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. Candidates who clear the exam are issued the HP TET certificate based on which they can apply for teachers’ jobs in Himachal Pradesh schools.

HPTET Admit Card 2021

HPTET Admit cards will be made available online, at the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) official website. Candidates who have registered for the HP TET examination 2021 can now download their admit card online at hpbose.org using the log-in details. Students must remember that they have to download the admit card from the official website only as no physical admit card will be sent to their residential address.

  • Visit the official website at hpbose.org
  • On the homepage, go to the “CET/Vacancies” and click on “TET-Jun 2021”

HPTET Exam Center and Guidelines For Test

The HPTET 2020 exam was conducted at 69 exam locations within the state. The exam centres for the 2021 exam will be notified through the official information bulletin. Applicants are given a chance to choose their exam city as per their preference while filling the application form. Once the test centre has been allotted to the candidate, it cannot be changed.

Exam Day Guidelines

  • Candidates must not forget to carry their admit card.
  • Along with the admit card, candidates should also carry a valid and original photo ID proof such as a passport, Aadhar card, etc.
  • Candidates should reach the allotted HP TET exam centre at least two hours before the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates should carry a minimum of two ball-point pens of black and blue colour to the test centre.
  • Candidates should not carry any electronic gadget such as a mobile phone inside the exam centre.
  • Candidates should not carry any textual material inside the exam centre.

HPTET Results 2021

The HPTET 2021 results will be announced in July 2021 for the June term exam while the November session will be announced in December 2021. The results will be declared by the exam conducting authority i.e. HPBOSE at its official website. Students can check their results through the official website only; all they have to do is enter their Application or Roll Number and check their results.
