B.Pharma is an Undergraduate level Pharmacy Course. It is a science that imparts knowledge about manufacturing, storing and dispensing medicine. Those students who have done their class 12th in Science stream with a combination of PCM/PCB subjects can opt for this course. The field of medicine cannot be studied only with a motive to become a doctor, rather some students with an interest in medicine can study B.Pharma.

The duration of the B.Pharma course is 4 years. After the completion of the course, a student should get registered under the Pharmacy law of their respective state and become a Pharmacist. He or She can get employed by various drug manufacturing companies, Pharmacy stores, hospitals or research and development centres related to medicine. All Pharmacy related things like education, profession, eligibility etc are regulated under the Pharmacy Council Act, 1948.

A student can do this course after class 12th in Science stream with a combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

A student should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. However, it varies from college to college.

Course Content

Students are taught about Pharmacist engineering, medicinal Chemistry, Drug and medicine, the various composition of drugs and medicine, their preparation method, chemical structures etc. Some of the subjects included in the Pharmacy course are Pharmaceutical Mathematics, Biostatistics, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Human anatomy.
