GPAT Exam

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test by NTA is the only national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to M.Pharm programmes. The administrative body, the National Testing Agency, will conduct the exam on 28th January 2019, facilitating colleges to choose the right students for the Master’s programme. The total number of seats offered by the participating institutes (841) is approx. 24,096. The exam will be held in 58 cities. Previously, AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) was the exam-conducting body of GPAT. It used to administer the exam as per the “directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India”.

Changes Made in GPAT 2019 –

  • Instead of AICTE, the National Testing Agency will manage and organise the GPAT 2019 exam.
  • In order to help students get familiar with the exam pattern, the Agency has established practice centres across the country.
  • This facility is available to all the aspirants at zero cost.

Otherwise, everything else will remain the same. The exam pattern will be similar as 2018. The test would be conducted in online mode.

GPAT 2019 Latest Updates – NTA is all set to accept online GPAT 2019 application forms from eligible candidates from 1st November 2018 till 30th November 2018. The exam has already been scheduled for 28th January 2019. All GPAT aspirants are encouraged to submit the form as soon as possible to avoid the last minute rush.

GPAT Exam 2019 Pattern & Syllabus

The three-hour exam will be held in online mode in a single session. There will be Multiple Choice Questions where 4 marks would be given for 1 correct answer. In case of incorrect answers, 1 mark would be deducted for 1 wrong answer. The total number of questions is 125 and the maximum mark that the candidates can get is 500.

GPAT Exam 2019 Eligibility

Check the GPAT 2019 eligibility criteria before heading ahead with the application process –

  • The candidates should be the residents of India
  • Must possess Bachelor’s Degree (4 years after 10+2) in Pharmacy
  • B.Pharm final year students are also eligible to appear in the 2019 exam

Who’s not eligible?

Candidates who have done B.Tech (Fine Chemical Technology and Pharmaceutical) or equivalent are debarred from taking the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2019.


GPAT Exam 2019 Application Process

The Agency has invited applications from eligible students for GPAT 2019 on November 01, 2018. It will be available online. 30th November 2018 is the closing date to submit the application. Check out the steps below to fill in the online form.

  • Visit the authorised website or click on the direct link to go to the ‘registration’ page https://nta.ac.in/Pharmacyexam
  • Scroll down a little and select ‘Registration
  • Provide basic information like the name of the candidate, mobile number, email ID, address, etc.
  • Upon successful registration, the Authority will send login credentials to the candidates on their registered email ID and mobile number
  • Use the credentials to ‘login’ and access the application form
  • Fill all the details carefully and upload the digital images (photo and signature) without violating the specific sizes and formats
  • Remit the application fee using the credit card, debit card and net banking
  • Cash deposit is possible only at the designated SBI branch
  • After the application fee payment, submit the form and take out a print for future use

Download the GPAT admit card 2019 from the official website on 7th January only if the application is accepted. Use the application form number, DOB and password. The call letter of GPAT 2019 would carry details of the exam centre, the name of the candidate, timings, etc. In case of discrepancy, contact the officials immediately.

GPAT 2019 Result

Looking for GPAT 2019 results? Candidates need to log on to the official website on 10th February 2019 and using the roll number. Along with the result, students can get hold of the scorecard and know the qualifying status.

GPAT 2019 Scorecard

To access the GPAT scorecard 2019, the candidates need to follow the similar procedure as the result. It can only be accessed online after February 10, 2019. The scorecard is valid for 3 years for the Master’s. For candidates willing to pursue PhD in pharmacy, the scorecard will be valid for one more year.

GPAT Cut-off 2019

The National Testing Agency determines the GPAT 2019 cut-off, which is the minimum qualifying mark for admission to the master’s course. For general and OBC categories, the cut-off mark is 113. For SC/ ST/ PWD, it is 82 marks.

GPAT Counselling 2019

The qualified students will be required to participate in the GPAT 2019 counselling, which will be organised by the participating institutes. The counselling will tentatively begin in February 2019.

A: The Agency has started the process on November 01, 2018. The last date to submit the online form is November 30, 2018.

Q: What is the mode of the exam?

A: Online/ CBT.

Q: Can I take the test from any computer?

A: No, you can’t do that. You need to visit the exam centre and give the test.

Q: What should I do if my GPAT admit card has errors?

A: In that case, you need to report it to the officials right away.

Q: If an applicant is 22 years old, is he eligible for the test?

A: NTA has not set the upper age criterion. It means the candidate can surely appear for the test.

Q: What is the nature of the question pattern?

A: MCQs. There will be 125 questions carrying 500 works.

Q: What about negative marking scheme?

A: 1 wrong answer would reduce 1 mark from the total. 1 mark will be deducted for one incorrect answer.

Q: Can foreigners apply for GPAT?

A: No!
