GPAT Exam

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test by NTA is the only national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to M.Pharm programmes. The administrative body, the National Testing Agency, will conduct the exam on 22nd to 27th February 2021, facilitating colleges to choose the right students for the Master’s programme. The GPAT score will be accepted by more than 800 participating institutes. Previously, AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) was the exam-conducting body of GPAT. It used to administer the exam as per the “directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India”.

Changes Made in GPAT 2021 –

  • Instead of AICTE, the National Testing Agency will manage and organise the GPAT 2021 exam.
  • In order to help students get familiar with the exam pattern, the Agency has established practice centres across the country.
  • This facility is available to all the aspirants at zero cost.

Otherwise, everything else will remain the same. The exam pattern will be similar to 2019. The test would be conducted in online mode.

GPAT 2021 Latest Updates – The National Testing Agency, NTA has released the official notification for GPAT 2021 Entrance Exam and also started the online registration process. Candidates who want to appear for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2020 can register themselves online by logging onto gpat.nta.nic.in. The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2021) is going to be held from 22nd to 27th February 2021.

GPAT Exam 2021 Pattern & Syllabus

The three-hour exam will be held in online mode in a single session. There will be Multiple Choice Questions where 4 marks would be given for every correct answer. In case of incorrect answers, 1 mark would be deducted for every wrong answer. The total number of questions is 125 and the maximum marks that the candidates can get is 500.

GPAT Exam 2021 Eligibility

Check the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria before heading ahead with the application process –

  • The candidates should be the residents of India.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree (4 years after 10+2) in Pharmacy.
  • B. Pharm final year students are also eligible to appear in the 2020 exam.

Who’s not eligible?

Candidates who have done B.Tech (Fine Chemical Technology and Pharmaceutical) or equivalent are debarred from taking the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2020.


GPAT Exam 2021 Application Process

GPAT registration 2021 has started from 23rd December 2020. Aspirants of GPAT 2021 have to register themselves online before filling the GPAT 2021 application form. The last date to register for GPAT 2021 is 22nd January 2021. The candidates are advised to complete the GPAT 2021 registration process and submit the application form on or before the tentative last date to apply. It is also advised that candidates applying for GPAT 2021 to check the eligibility criteria before registering for it. GPAT 2021 application form of an ineligible candidate will be rejected by the conducting body, NTA, during admission. Check out the steps below to fill in the online form.

  • Visit the authorised website or click on the direct link to go to the ‘registration’ page https://nta.ac.in/Pharmacyexam
  • Scroll down a little and select ‘Registration
  • Provide basic information like the name of the candidate, mobile number, email ID, address, etc.
  • Upon successful registration, the Authority will send login credentials to the candidates on their registered email ID and mobile number
  • Use the credentials to ‘log-in’ and access the application form
  • Fill all the details carefully and upload the digital images (photo and signature) without violating the specific sizes and formats
  • Remit the application fee using the credit card, debit card and net banking
  • Cash deposit is possible only at the designated SBI branch
  • After the application fee payment, submit the form and take out a print for future use

GPAT 2021 Admit Card

Candidates can download the GPAT admit card 2021 from the official website from February 2021 only if the application is accepted. Use the application form number, DOB and password. The call letter of GPAT 2021 would carry details of the exam centre, the name of the candidate, timings, etc. In case of discrepancy, contact the officials immediately.

GPAT Cut-off 2021

The National Testing Agency determines the GPAT 2021 cut-off, which is the minimum qualifying mark for admission to the master’s course. For general and OBC categories, the cut-off mark is 113. For SC/ ST/ PWD, it is 82 marks.

GPAT Counselling 2021

The qualified students will be required to participate in the GPAT 2021 counselling, which will be organised by the participating institutes. The counselling will tentatively begin in the month of March 2021.
