Assam PAT Exam

Assam Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) is conducted for admission to diploma engineering courses offered at colleges in the state and those outside the state (against Government of India allotted seats). The exam is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Assam. Those who clear the exam can take admission into a three-year diploma course in Engineering & Technology after class 10th. The Diploma courses are affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam and are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Exam Pattern for PAT

The exam will be an OMR based test where candidates are required to mark their responses using a black ball pen. The question paper will be of class X level. Here are the details:

PAT 2021 Syllabus

No separate syllabus has been issued for PAT 2021. As per the official notification, the exam will be based on the class X level. Thus, candidates must prepare for all the topics in Science and Mathematics of class X.

Assam PAT Exam 2021 Eligibility

Nationality/ Domicile

Applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. The PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) is to be submitted at the time of counselling. 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the H.S.L.C (class X) or equivalent level examination with Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The minimum percentage marks in the qualifying exam are as under:

For institutions outside Assam, the upper age limit is 20 years 6 months as on 31st December 2021.

Physical Fitness

Candidates must submit a fitness certificate (from a registered medical practitioner) at the time of admission.

Assam PAT Exam 2021 Application Process

PAT 2021 application will be accepted only through the online mode. Applications will not be accepted through any other mode. Applicants are advised to fill the application form well before the last date to avoid the last-minute rush.

Documents to be Uploaded

Following documents are to be uploaded while filling the application form:

  • Scanned image of candidate’s recent photograph in .jpg format. The file size should not exceed 100 KB.
  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature in .jpg format. The file size should not exceed 100 KB.

PAT Registration/ Application Process

  • Visit the official website for PAT at
  • Click on the ‘Click here to Apply’ button after reading the instructions.
  • The application form will appear on the screen. Fill in all the details carefully.
  • Upload the scanned image of the photograph and signature.
  • Click the ‘Submit’ button to save the application.
  • After the application is submitted successfully, a unique application number will be generated. Read the instructions on the screen carefully and move to the ‘Next’ step.
  • You will be taken to the payment portal. Select ‘PAT 2021’ as payment category and enter the details asked for viz. Application number, name, DoB, exam centre, category, contact number, community information, etc.
  • The application fee can be paid via online or offline mode.
  • After successful fee payment, a fee receipt will be generated. Keep it safe for future reference.

Payment status will be reflected in the candidate's profile within 5 to 7 business days. Candidates can check the same using their login details.

NOTE: No hard copy of the application form needs to be submitted at the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

PAT 2021 Application Fee

Application fee - ₹ 500/-

The fee payment can be made using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Payment can also be made in cash at any branch of the State Bank of India after generating Cash Deposit Form while filling the online application form.

Assam PAT Admit Card 2021

PAT 2021 admit card release date is not announced yet. Candidates must keep a check on the official website for the same. Admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in the exam. It can be downloaded using the registration ID and password through the following steps:

  • Visit

  • Click on ‘Applicant Login’ and enter your credentials for log-in.
  • Click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option.
  • The admit card will be generated. Take a print of the same.

Assam Polytechnic Result 2021

  • The Assam Polytechnic result 2021 will be released on the official website.
  • Those who have appeared for the exam will be able to check their marks using the login credentials.
  • Visit the official website and download your PAT 2021 result. You can take a print of the same for future references.

PAT 2021 Counselling

The counselling schedule will be released along with the result. Qualified candidates are required to appear for the counselling process. The choice of college and branch of Engineering will be based on the merit in the PAT exam.

Question 1: I have forgotten my application number? Where can I retrieve it from?

The application number is sent to the candidate's registered email Id and mobile number. Check your inbox for the application number.

Question 2: What is the PAT 2021 application fee for reserved category candidates?

₹ 500. The application fee for all categories is the same.

Question 3: Is there any negative marking in the PAT 2021 exam?

Question 5: What if I cannot produce PRC at the time of counselling?
