TS POLYCET Exam

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana conducts Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET). It is a state-level entrance examination conducted once in a year (in the month of April) for admission to engineering and non-engineering diploma courses offered by colleges in Telangana. So, candidates interested in getting admission to Polytechnic colleges of Telangana are required to appear in this entrance exam.

Earlier, the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana has decided to conduct TS POLYCET 2020 entrance test on 17th April 2020. TS POLYCET Exam 2020 Pattern & Syllabus

TS POLYCET is a pen and paper-based examination of two hours duration. The exam comprises of 120 multiple choice questions asked in two languages – English and Telugu. 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and no mark is deducted for incorrect answer. Questions are asked from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as per the syllabus of SSC board. Here is the section-wise distribution of questions:

TS POLYCET Exam 2020 Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

It is always advised to check the eligibility conditions before applying for any examination. Please refer to the official notification of TS POLYCET to check if you meet the eligibility conditions laid by the exam conducting body. We have listed some important eligibility conditions:

Nationality

  • Should be an Indian national.
  • Should have domicile of the State of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for admission into Diploma Courses in Polytechnic colleges.

Education Qualification

  • Should have passed S.S.C. Examination of State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh or any other equivalent examination from a board recognised by the State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh. Such boards are CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), ICSE (Indian Council for Secondary Education), TOSS (Telangana Open School Society), NIOS (National Institute of Open School), APOSS (A.P. Open School Society), Class X examinations conducted by various State Boards in India.
  • Candidates from boards other than the State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh should have passed in all subjects (including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics) with minimum 35% marks.

TS POLYCET Exam 2020 Application Process

The online application process the TS POLYCET exam has started on 2nd March 2020. The last date for registrations is extended till 30th April 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates must fill the application form only through the official website. Here are the steps for filling the application form.

Candidates have to register for the exam online through the official website.

  • Register for the exam and fill the online application form.
  • Take a print out of the filled-in application form and affix a recent passport size photograph (do not staple or sign the photograph).
  • Take signature of your Parent/Guardian on the form and submit it to the nearest TS online Payment gateway/ Net Banking/ Coordinating cum Helpline centre. Make payment of the application fee along with the form. The fee can be paid both offline and online.

SC/ST candidate – ₹ 200/-

TS POLYCET Exam Result

TS POLYCET result will be made available only at polycetts.nic.in. As per the revised schedule of the exam, the results of TS POLYCET 2020 are likely to be announcing in the month of June 2020.  The rank card is issued after a week from the date of result declaration. Candidates can check the result at the official website using the registration ID and password.

TS POLYCET Counselling

TS POLYCET counselling is an online process which is to be attended by the qualified candidates. The counselling process will tentatively begin in the 4th week of June 2020. Seat allotment is done on the basis of merit list. After online seat allotment, candidates have to attend the counselling at the allotted institute to confirm the admission.
