TS POLYCET Exam 2018: The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad conducts Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET). It is a state-level entrance examination conducted once in a year (in the month of April) for admission to engineering and non-engineering diploma courses offered by colleges in Telangana. So, candidates interested in getting admission to Polytechnic colleges of Telangana are required to appear in this entrance exam.


TS POLYCET Exam 2018 Pattern & Syllabus

Exam Pattern

TS POLYCET is a pen and paper-based examination of two hours duration. The exam comprises of 120 multiple choice questions asked in two languages – English and Telugu. 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and no mark is deducted for incorrect answer. Questions are asked from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as per the syllabus of SSC board. Here is the section-wise distribution of questions:

Who Can Apply?

It is always advised to check the eligibility conditions before applying for any examination. Please refer to the official notification of TS POLYCET to check if you meet the eligibility conditions laid by the exam conducting body. We have listed some important eligibility conditions:

Nationality

  • Should be an Indian national.
  • Should have domicile of the State of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for admission into Diploma Courses in Polytechnic colleges.

Education Qualification

  • Should have passed S.S.C. Examination of State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh or any other equivalent examination from a board recognised by the State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh. Such boards are CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), ICSE (Indian Council for Secondary Education), TOSS (Telangana Open School Society), NIOS (National Institute of Open School), APOSS (A.P. Open School Society), Class X examinations conducted by various State Boards in India.

Candidates from boards other than the State Board of Secondary Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh should have passed in all subjects (including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics) with minimum 35% marks.

Candidates have to register for the exam online through the official website.

  • Register for the exam and fill the online application form.
  • Take a print out of the filled-in application form and affix a recent passport size photograph (do not staple or sign the photograph).
  • Take signature of your Parent/Guardian on the form and submit it to the nearest TS online Payment gateway/ Net Banking/ Coordinating cum Helpline centre. Make payment of the application fee along with the form. The fee can be paid both offline and online.

The application has to be paid as per the category of the candidate. Details are as under:

General and OBC – ₹ 350/-

SC/ST candidate – ₹ 200/-


Other Details

TS POLYCET RESULT

TS POLYCET result is announced in the month of May. The rank card is issued after a week from the date of result declaration.

TS POLYCET Counselling

TS POLYCET counselling is an online process which is to be attended by the qualified candidates. Seat allotment is done on the basis of merit list. After online seat allotment, candidates have to attend the counselling at the allotted institute to confirm the admission. Here is the list of documents required at the time of counselling:

  • Valid ID Proof
  • Caste certificate
  • Residence certificate
  • SLC/HSC mark sheet and passing certificate
