PES University conducts the PESSAT exam every year for admission to its B.Tech. courses and other courses viz. BBA, B.Com., B.Des., LLB, BCA, B.Pharm, etc. However, we will be covering the B.Tech. course here. The application process for all the courses stats at different times. The applications for the B.Tech. course are invited through online mode in October. And, the exam is conducted tentatively in the first week of May. Candidates interested in appearing for the exam are required to submit the online application on time. PESSAT Exam 2020 Pattern & Syllabus

Candidates must be aware of the pattern of the exam for a better understanding of the paper. Here is the exam pattern for the PESSAT 2020 exam:

  • Negative Marking: There will be negative marking in the B.Tech. entrance examination. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • B.Tech. Lateral Entry: For lateral entry, the exam will be of 120 minutes duration and 60 questions will be asked from the respective diploma discipline.

Syllabus for PESSAT Exam 2020

As per the official notification, the questions in section 1 (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) will be asked from CBSE class 11th and class 12th syllabus. So, candidates must check out the official CBSE website for the PESSAT 2020 syllabus. In section 2 (English), questions will be asked from grammar.



PESSAT Exam 2020 Eligibility

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. If candidates are found not eligible, their applications will be rejected at any phase of the admission process. The conditions required to be fulfilled for appearing in the examination are:

Education Qualification: Should have passed class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Subjects in the Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class XI and XII.

Marks Required: Candidates must have secured minimum aggregate marks of 60% in class 12th examination.

Number of Attempts: Candidates can appear for the PESSAT exam only once.


PESSAT Exam 2020 Application Process

Candidates are advised to fill the application forms before the last date of submission. The application process has started on 4th October 2019 and will continue till 22nd April 2020. The PESSAT 2020 application form must be filled carefully. The incomplete forms will be rejected during the scrutiny. In case the candidates submit multiple applications, the last application form will be considered. So, make sure it is complete in all aspects. Here are the steps to fill the application form:

Registration

  • Visit the official website - https://www.pes.edu.
  • Select the course you want to apply for on the home-page.
  • Enter your details such as name, gender, DoB, email-ID, etc.
  • Click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  • Click on the ‘Confirm’ button after checking all the details.
  • Now, you will be re-directed to the personal details page.

Complete the Application Form

  • Fill the personal details such as blood group, nationality, category, religion, citizenship, permanent address, mobile number, parents; details, educational details, course and branch, test centers, etc.
  • Tick the declaration and you will see a message ‘your application has been submitted successfully.’

Uploading Images

  • Click on the upload button.
  • Select your photograph for uploading.
  • After a successful upload, move to the next step.

Fee Payment

  • Choose the payment mode and follow the respective steps for successful fee payment.
  • Check the status of the payment in one or two days.
  • Once successful, submit the application form.

Print the application form

  • After the submission of the application form, take a print of the completed application form.

PESSAT 2020 Registration Fee -

The registration fee for PESSAT 2020 exam is ₹ 1050/-. The fee can be paid through online mode, challan mode or Demand Draft.

Online Mode: the fee can be paid through credit card/ debit card/Net banking.

E-Challan: Take a print of the application form and e-challan, and carry both to the bank for the fee payment.

Demand Draft: Make a DD of the registration fee amount in favour of  “PES University General Fund” payable at Bangalore. Enter the DD details in the space provided in the online application form. Send the DD to the following address:

PESSAT Exam 2020 Admit Card

PESSAT 2020 admit card can be downloaded only after the slot booking process. The slot booking process will begin on 24th April 2020. All the candidates whose application form has been submitted successfully are required to book slots for the examination. During slot booking, candidates are required to select the exam center, date, and timings. After the successful booking of the slots, candidates can download the admit card for the exam. The PESSAT 2020 admit card will have the exam date, timing, and exam center details.

PESSAT Exam 2020 Result

The PESSAT 2020 result is scheduled to be announced in the last week of May 2020 through online mode. Candidates can check their result using the registration number and password. The result will be available in the form of a scorecard and rank list. Candidates who qualify the exam are called for the counselling process.

PESSAT 2020 Exam Counselling

The counselling process for the candidates who qualify the PESSAT 2020 exam will tentatively begin in the first week of June 2020. The counselling process will be held in two rounds. Candidates are required to physically report for the counselling process. Seats are allotted based on the rank of the candidate, course preferred by the candidate, and availability of seats. Candidates are also required to carry the documents listed in the section below for the document verification process.

Candidates are required to carry 2 sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents:

  • PESSAT Admission Order & Rank Card
  • 10+2 Class Marks Card
  • 10th Class Marks card
  • Transfer Certificate / College leaving Certificate
  • Migration Certificate(If other than PU Board)
  • Copy of Aadhar Card
  • Copy of Fees Receipt
  • FOUR COPIES each of colour passport size and stamp size photographs
