Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, the autonomous organization under MHRD, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, has, earlier, sought applications from 2,370 Indian citizens between 10th July and 25th August 2019 for recruitment on a direct basis to the following posts –

  • Assistant Commissioner (5 posts)
  • Trained Graduate Teachers (1,154 posts)
  • Post Graduate Teachers (430 posts)
  • Miscellaneous Category of Teachers (PET-Female, PET-Male, Art, Music and Librarian) (564 posts)

Those submitted the applications successfully will appear for the examinations starting from 16th September 2019 to 20th September 2019, in three shifts.

(a) NVS Recruitment Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Commissioner (Post Code: 01):

Essential Qualifications –

  • Candidate should have Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Science/ Humanities from a recognised Institution or University
  • Holding similar post or post of Principal in the Level 12 (₹ 78800 - 209200) in the Pay Matrix, Or
  • He should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the level 10 (₹ 56100 - 177500) and above in the Educational Planning and Administration in any Semi/ Govt. or Govt. / Autonomous Organisation.

Desirable Qualifications –

  • The candidates should have research work done in the field of education.
  • Must have experience in a residential school system.

  • Must have completed 3 years Diploma Course in Catering from a recognised institution by Ministry of Tourism, Government of State/ India.
  • Or, the candidates should have Trade Proficiency Certificate in Catering with 10 years (at least) of service in Defence Services of the regular establishment (this is for Ex-Servicemen)
  • Or, passed Class XII (Senior Secondary) or equivalent and one year diploma in Catering (or equivalent) with 3 years experience in Catering from a recognised hotel/ institution.
  • Or, passed Sr. Secondary, i.e. Class 12th from CBSE with Hotel Management and Catering (Vocational Subject) and must have got one-year catering experience.

(h) NVS Recruitment Eligibility Criteria for Lower Division Clerk (Post Code: 26):

Essential Qualifications –

  • The candidates must have passed Class 12th (Sr. Secondary) from CBSE/ State Government with Secretarial Practices and Office Management (Vocational Subjects)
  • Or, passed Class XII (Senior Secondary) from a recognised Board (50% marks in aggregate) and displaying a typing speed of 30 words (English) per minute or 25 words (Hindi)

NVS Recruitment 2019 Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of NVS 2019 recruitment largely depends on the performance of the candidates in written examination, i.e. CBT, followed by Personal Interaction/ Interview put together. However, this does not apply for all the posts. Moreover, the Navodaya Vidyala Samiti decides the cut-off marks in CBT and interview separately.

  • Selection Procedure for posts including Female Staff Nurse, Legal Assistant and Catering Assistant is done based on performance in CBT.
  • Selection Procedure for posts including Lower Division Clerk is done based on performance in CBT. The shortlisted candidates will further be called for Skill Test (qualifying in nature and carries no weightage).

Note: As per the official Information Bulletin of NVS Recruitment 2019, “The mode of selection, whichever so, for all the notified posts will be the sole discretion of NVS and may be changed.”


NVS Recruitment 2019 Application Process

To apply for a particular post, candidates are advised to visit the official website and apply online at www.navodaya.gov.in. There is no other mode of submitting the application. Ensure that you have got a valid personal email ID to fill in the application form. Create one if you don’t have any. Fill in all details carefully, remit the application fee as prescribed, submit the application form and take a printout of the same.

  • Submit
  • Login credentials will be sent on the registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Login using the details and enter all details including Personal Details, Qualification Details, Eligibility Details, etc.
  • Documents such as, photo, signature and other details must be uploaded as per the prescribed format.
  • Release the application fee
  • Submit and take a printout of the same.

NVS Recruitment 2019 Cities (Venues) –

NVS will conduct the recruitment examination in 42 cities across the country. However, “the centre for the written examination/ CBT for the post of Assistant Commissioner & Legal Assistant will be at Delhi/ NCR only,” states the official website. Candidates can have their preferences while filling up the application form. Nonetheless, NVS has the right to decide the venue depending upon the availability of seats at any particular venue.

NVS Recruitment 2019 Admit Card –

The NVS Recruitment 2019 admit cards for the 16th September exam will be made available shortly at the official website. The Information Bulletin says, “No candidate will be permitted for the written examination/ CBT without the proper Admit Card.” Visit the NVS website and download the hall ticket. It will carry the schedule of examination.

NVS PGT Recruitment 2019 Result

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has released the result of computer-based test (CBT) for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) by 18th November 2019. Candidates who had appeared in the CBT exam can check their NVS PGT Result 2019 by pursuing the correct steps. The results have been made available at the official website of the exam conducting body.
