UP Board Class 10th and 12th Examination 2019 from 7th February

The Uttar Pradesh board examinations for both class 10th and class 12th students would begin on 7th February as told by the UP Deputy Chief Minister to ANI News Agency. The board examinations for both the classes would conclude in a time span of 16 days.

In the words of UP Deputy Chief Minister, “Today we have taken an important decision but we are yet to announce it. Both the Class 10 and Class 12 state board exams will begin on February 7 and will be completed within 16 working days.”

The deputy CM further added, “Earlier, these exams used to be stretched for as long as two and half months. We have a plan and will make the timetable accordingly.”

On being asked about how the exams would be conducted in such a short time, the board director, Vinay Kumar Pandey, said, “The Allahabad office has been drafting the plan. They will soon come up with a blueprint.”

Cheating-Free Examinations

In the year 2018, the state government has taken various precautionary measures in order to keep a check on unfair practices during the board exams. Consequently, about 10 lakh students have dropped out the board examinations last year.

In the year 2019 also, the government is expected to keep a strict check on the exam practices and make an arrangement for ‘Cheating-Free’ exams. The deputy CM has said that this year the state government would be focusing on preventing cheating practices by installing nearly 1.25 lakh CCTV cameras with voice recording at 8,549 exam centres across the state.

The board has also decided to introduce Decoding in Answer sheets and ban mobile phones in the examination hall as well as around 200 metres periphery of the examination venue.

UP Board Exams 2018

In the year 2018, more than 29 lakh students had registered for class 12th board examination and 36 lakh students had registered for class 10th board examination. The pass percentage for class 12th was 72.43% while for class 10th was 75.16%. For the year 2018, the UP board examinations for class 10th were conducted from 6th to 22nd February 2018 and for class 12th from 6th February to 10th March 2018. The results for both class 10th and class 12th examinations were declared on 29th April 2018.

About UP Board

The Uttar Pradesh Board was set up in the year 1921 at Allahabad under an act of United Provinces Legislative Council. It is functioning as an autonomous examining authority administered by the UP state government for conducting class 10th (secondary school level) and class 12th (inter-college level) examinations. The board conducted its first examination in the year 1923.
