Reason Behind To Conduct PhD And MPhil Viva Exams Online

The University Grants Commission has composed expert committees under the Chairmanship of Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to frame new guidelines on exams and academic calendar for universities in view of imposed novel COVID-19 lockdown. The objective to pursue these initiatives is to accelerate the academic formalities without compromising the quality of the teaching.

How Does It Works?

While conducting the PhD and MPhil Viva-Voce Examination through Video Conferencing using meeting apps, it may be ensured that the interviews will be attended by members of the Research Advisory Committee, research scholars, all faculty members of the department, and other interested experts/ researchers. It is also very important to maintain the record of the same, including the report signed by Expert(s)/ Examiner(s) appointed for conducting the same. More than this, the university provides six months relaxation to all those students whose maximum period for submission of dissertation or thesis has either expired or is expiring during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, UGC has released the academic calendar 2019-20 and 2020-21 for the students who are facing lot of difficulties regarding the admission and semester terms exams.
