ICAI CA May 2020 Exams Cancelled, Students Can Change Exam Center

After cancelling ICAI CA May 2020 exam, ICAI says they will merge May attempt to November one to ensure safety of the students.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has notified students that they have decided to cancel the pending ICAI CA May 2020 exam to highlight the safety concern of students in COVID-19 pandemic. To confirm the decision, ICAI released an official ICAI CA May 2020 exam cancelled notification on its website, which said that the CA May 2020 Exam have been cancelled and thus all the benefits of the current attempt will be carried forward for the students to the November 2020 attempt.

The several benefits includes fee paid and exemptions graded for CA May 2020 attempt. More than this, the exam conducting organization has also announced that the May 2020 exams will now be merged with the November 2020 attempt to ensure safety of the students.

ICAI Decide to Cancel Exam After Supreme Court Hearing

Right after the decision of Supreme Court in an on-going hearing about ‘opt-out’ option, ICAI presented its decision to cancel the pending examination. Earlier, the institute had well-versed the apex court that it will determine the possibility of holding the CA exams 2020 scheduled in July/August with the surging number of COVID-19 cases in India. The examination authority also informed the court that it will consult with several states and examination centres on the issue and then took the decision. As per the earlier dates, ICAI CA Exams 2020 were scheduled to be held between 29th July 2020 and 16th August 2020.

Option to Change Exam Centre Is Now Open For Students

Along with confirming the cancellation of ICAI May attempt for CA Exam 2020, the institute also informed eligible and interested students that they will be provided an option to change the groups of their appearance along with change in exam centre, while applying for the November Attempt of CA Exams 2020. As per the ICAI CA calendar, November exams are all set to be held from 1st November 2020; however, dates will be changed as per the current scenario of COVID-19.
