DU to Conduct PG, MPhil and PhD Entrance Tests Online from 2018-19

The University of Delhi is likely to introduce online test mechanism for admission to PG, MPhil and PhD courses from the year 2018-19 onwards.

New Delhi/24.04.2018: The University of Delhi, as popularly known Delhi University, is likely to introduce online test mechanism for admission to PG, MPhil and PhD courses from the year 2018-19 onwards. The University will conduct the entrance examinations in online mode as per the Executive Council’s resolution. Executive Council (EC) is the highest constitutional body of DU that amends and approves new policies.

The previous year, the University too had planned to implement the online test system to filter students for admission to the courses mentioned above. But the plan was failed as it faced severe resistance from students’ unions.

Minimum Percentage Needed to Clear PG Entrance Exam:

DU offers more than 50 seats for postgraduate courses. While the entrance test is conducted for students outside Delhi University, the halves of the seats are secured for its own students who make it to the admission list based on their merit.

For students appearing in the entrance exam are required to score a minimum of 55 percent marks.

Entrance Test Important Dates:

Online Registration: June 2nd Week, 2018

Last Date to Register: June 4th Week, 2018

Admit Card Issue Date: June Last Week, 2018

Exam Date: July 1st Week, 2018

Result Declare: July 2nd Week, 2018

Group Discussion: 2nd Week July 2018

Classes Start: July 3rd Week, 2018

Online Test Pattern:

There would be objective-type questions asked in the online entrance exam. The questions are supposed to be either in English or Hindi, and the test will be in three shifts. Since the University itself will not be organising the examination, students will take the entrance test in various cities (18 cities). Private institutes will organise the entrance exam and declare the results as well.
