CBSE Soon Release Official Notification for NEET Exam 2018

The official notification for the NEET Exam 2018 is expected to be released soon on the official website.

8 January 2018: The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE will soon publish official notification on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET Exam 2018 for the Under Graduate (UG) courses. After the release of the notification, the candidates can check the same from the official website of NEET at www.cbseneet.nic.in.

As per various newspaper reports, CBSE is expected to conduct the examination on 10th May 2018.

Last year, the exam was conducted on 7th May in 10 national languages at 1,921 centres in the 103 cities across the country. Along with that, last year the number of total registered students was 11,38,890 including 1,522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 foreigners.

NEET Eligibility Criteria:

Education: To appear in the NEET Exam, the candidate must qualify Class 12 Board examination or equivalent from a recognized university. The subjects for the class 12 examination must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with other elective subjects. The general students must obtain at least 50% marks in that exam where the PH candidates must get 45% and the SC, ST and OBC categories candidates the minimum cut off marks is 40%.

Age: As per the Supreme Court order, the eligible candidate can be above the age of 25 years.

NEET Exam Pattern:

  • The Union Human Resource Development minister, Mr Prakash Javedkar assured the candidates that the vernacular question paper of NEET exam will be ‘mere translation’ of the English question paper to avoid last year’s controversy.
  • It is expected that there will be 180 objective type questions on Physics, Chemistry and Biology and the duration will be of 3 hours.
  • The NEET-UG exam will be conducted in six different languages for the 2017-18 academic session. The Union health Ministry notified the six languages are Gujrati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telegu and Tamil.
