IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is an independent agency set by RBI in 1954, to induct quality human resource for the various posts of Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks. IBPS since 2011 is entrusted with an authority to conduct a Common Entrance exam for the officer’s and clerical posts. IBPS invites applications from all over India and organizes exams on various centres of India for filling vacancies in the 29 Public sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks. It also recruits personnel for LIC, NABARD, IDBI, government PSU’s and departments.

Eligibility for IBPS PO

•    The candidate should have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from the recognized university.
•    The candidate should not be of less than 20 years of age and should not exceed the 30 years of age.
 


IBPS PO Admission Process

Application Form

The IBPS PO, 2017 Exam has invited applications from all over India for filling 8822 vacancies. Candidates can get the application form online from the official website of the IBPS i.e. ibps.in. They can apply online only. 

How To Apply

•    Candidates should visit the official website ibps.in.
•    Here candidates will be given options for various exams, where they should click for the CWE 6 PO/MT/Clerk/SO notification.
•    Then the candidate is required to get themselves registered on the official website of IBPS by providing few details about like their name, mobile number and address. Once they get registered then they are able to access the Application form.
•    Candidate must fill the form correctly and must ensure that no field is left blank.
•    Give the order of preference of your Banks in which you want to work. 
•    Upload the digital image of your photograph and signature also. The size of which should not exceed more than 20kb.
•    Pay the Application fee along with the application form.
•    Before making the final submission of your application form one must have a pre-view of it. So that any error correction could be done.
•    It is advised that after submitting your application form, take out its print hard copy. This will serve as the reference copy for future use related to the examination.

Application Fee

The Application fee is charged differently for the different category of candidates.

•    The General Category/OBC candidates should pay –Rs.600/.
•    The other candidates SC/ST/PWD should pay – Rs.100/.

Candidates should pay their application fee through Net Banking or Credit Card or Debit Card.
 


IBPS PO Pattern (Syllabus)

The IBPS PO Exam is a 3 stage exam. The 1st stage is the Preliminary Exam which carries 100 marks. The preliminary exam is required to be qualified by the candidate only to be allowed to proceed to the next stage of the exam i.e. the Mains exam. The marks obtained by candidate in their prelims is not added while preparing the final merit list of the successful candidates.
 
The 2nd stage of the exam is the Mains exams, which carries a weightage of 200 marks. Candidates wishing to qualify the exam should strive hard to score well in this stage of the exam, because its marks are added while preparing the final merit list of candidates. 

The Final stage of the exam is the Interview stage which carries 100 marks. Those candidates who qualifies in the Mains stage of the exam are called by the IBPS board for their personal interview round.

Note-

  • Duration of the Main Exam is composite 3 hours.
  • For English Language (Letter & Essay Writing) 30 minutes will be given separately.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for the question left blank or unanswered.
    The question paper will be Hindi as well as English except for the Letter & Essay writing which will be in English only.
  • Those candidates who qualify in the Mains Exams are called out for the interview. It is of 100 marks. 

Admit Cards issuance by the IBPS PO 2017 Exam

IBPS issues three admit cards to candidates for each of its different stages of the exam. All admit cards are made available online by the IBPS. Candidate should not expect the hard copies of admit cards to be sent by the IBPS at their postal address. Hence they should remain vigilant and download their admit cards from the official website of the IBPS. 

Cut–Off Marks for IBPS PO 2017 Exam

The cut –off marks for the given year of exam is governed by various factors of competition like number of vacancies, level of toughness of the questions in the exam, number of candidates appearing for the exam, common pattern of score by the candidates etc.

Result announcement for the IBPS PO 2017 Exam

The IBPS announces three results at the different stages of the exam. First the result for Preliminary exam is announced then for the Mains exam. Finally, after interviews the merit list of successful candidates is prepared. 


IBPS PO Important Dates

The IBPS Probationary Officer, 2017 Exam will be conducted for recruiting of Probationary Officers and Management Trainee for 29 Public Sector Banks and institutes (participating). It will be a three phase exam which will be conducted in the month of October of 2017. Candidates can get the Application form in the month of July, 2017.

There is vacancy of 8822 number of seats in IBPS PO 2017 exam.

Candidates can get the Application from in the month of July –August 2017.

Q. If the Application form is available online only or offline also?

The Application form can be accessed and submitted only Online. There is no provision for the offline form.  

Q. Is there any negative marking scheme for the IBPS PO 2017, Exam?

Yes, there is a scheme of negative marking in the exams. For each incorrect answer 0.25 marks is deducted in Prelims as well as the Mains exam. 

Q. How many stages are there for the IBPS PO 2017, Exam?

The exam has three stages, namely –Preliminary stage, Mains stage and finally the Interview stage.

Q. If the marks of the Preliminary round is added in the final merit list of the exam?

No, the Preliminary exam is only of qualifying nature. Candidate is required to only pass this stage of exam to become eligible for appearing in the 2nd stage of the exam i.e. the Mains exams.

Q. How one is given the Bank of one choice after qualifying the exam?

The candidates are required to specify their order of preference for the Banks when they are filling their Application form. Once the final result is declared the candidates are allocated their desired bank as per their rank in the merit list.
