NEET PG Counselling 2020 Postponed Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has postponed the NEET PG 2020 counselling schedule. Under this, candidates will not be able to take admission to medical colleges based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG score. The decision to cancel the NEET PG Counselling 2020 has been take due to the new cases identified for the novel Corona virus infection in India. As per the stats, the COVID-19 case reaches at 334,981 globally and 434 in India. NEET PG 2020 Official Notification -

The Medical Counselling Committee has issued a notification on 23rd March 2020, which states, “In a view of the ongoing COVID-19 advisory issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the MCC has been decided to cancel the Counselling for NEET PG as per now. In addition, the reporting phase round-I of MCC PG counselling is hereby postponed till further orders. Check complete notification at mcc.nic.in.

Since, only the physical verification process and counselling round has been postponed for round one and corresponding rounds, participants need to complete the phase I registration to be considered for further rounds.

MCC NEET PG Counselling 2020 –

MCC will conduct the NEET PG counselling in two rounds. After the 2nd round of counselling, the vacant seats (if any) will be transferred to the State Quota seats. Counselling for the state quota seats will be done by the respective State Counselling authorities. After state quota counselling, a mop-up round counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee for the vacant seats, if any.

MCC NEET PG Counselling Schedule 2020 (Postponed)

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MCC has postponed the NEET PG counselling schedule 2020. The new dates will be announced after 31st March 2020. However, the filling of choices and related process will begin on the scheduled dates. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website to check the new dates of NEET PG 2020 counselling schedule. The tentative dates are as follows:

Document Required at the time of Counselling

Candidates are required to carry the following documents at the time of NEET PG counselling for the verification process:

  • NEET PG 2020 Admit Card
  • NEET PG 2020 Rank Card
  • MBBS degree certificate
  • MBBS degree mark sheet
  • Class X mark sheet/ date of birth certificate
  • Internship completion certificate
  • Photo ID proof (Valid, authentic, and non-expired) (Driving Licence/ Passport/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar Card)
  • Caste-certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)

The candidates must be physically present at the allotted center. If the candidates fail to appear for the counselling process, the candidature will be cancelled.

About NEET PG Counselling

Every year, MCC conducts PG medical and dental counselling. The counselling will be conducted for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for admission to MS, MD, and Diploma courses. Candidates who have qualified the NEET-PG exam conducted on 5th January 2020 are eligible to appear for the online counselling process. The NEET-PG result 2020 was released on 30th January 2020.
