New Perspectives Added Into The JEE Advanced 2018 Exam Pattern.

JEE Advanced is considered as one of the toughest entrance exam not only on the national level but internationally also. The level of difficulty of its questions and examination pattern is known to select the best minds to study engineering. Thus, those students who are appearing in the IIT JEE Advanced 2018 Exam should know the marking scheme, section-wise distribution of questions, number and types of questions in detail.

It should be noted that some changes in the pattern of the exam are made by the exam conducting IIT every year. The IIT Kanpur is expected to release the updated exam pattern of the JEE (Advanced) 2018 soon. But such changes are minor and not drastic. So candidates should not affect their preparation by getting worried about the examination pattern.

Expected Exam Pattern for IIT JEE Advanced 2018 Exam

  • There will be 2 papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2 in the JEE (Advanced) 2018 exam.
  • Each paper will be divided into 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • As per the official announcement, the exam will be conducted completely through the online mode. 
  • The scheme of marking will be same as that of the previous years. There will be MCQ, Single answer type, and NAT type questions.
    • Negative marking – For incorrect response/ answers.
    • Zero marking - For questions which are not attempted.
    • Partial marking – For questions which are near to correct answer.
    • Full marking – For answers which are correct.
  • There will be two types of questions MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and NAT (Numerical Answer type) in the JEE (Advanced) 2018.
  • The duration of the paper would be 3 hours.
  • The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi.
  • The total marks of the exam would be around 500. The IIT JEE Advanced 2017 Paper 1 carried 264 marks and the Paper 2 carried 240 marks.
