Indian Navy Entrance Test 2019 - Check Selection Process of INET (Both SSC and Permanent Commission)

Indian Navy has recently introduced All India Entrance Exam called as Indian Navy Entrance Test for the recruitment of Officer Entry. The exam is proposed to be held twice in a year. Applications for the exam are invited from unmarried eligible men & women candidates who want to serve for Indian Navy under the branches of Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC). This year a sum total of 121 posts are available for the Naval Orientation Course (NOC) Regular – Observer / Pilot / Air Traffic Controller / Logistics / Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre / Education / Technical (Engineering & Electrical) and Information Technology.  

Eligibility Criteria of INET 2019 –

Aspirants are advised to check the eligibility pattern for the vacancies before start filling the online application form.

Education Qualification:

  • Graduated candidates who secured 60% marks in their engineering course from the AICTE recognized university are eligible for the recruitment process.
  • Final year engineering students are also eligible.
  • Aspirant must have obtained 60% aggregate score in class 10th and class 12th boards.

Age Limit:

  • For the vacancies, a candidate must be born in between 02nd July 1995 to 01st January 2001.

Selection Process of Indian Navy (INET) Recruitment Exam –

Eligible students will be shortlisted based on the following factors:

INET Online CBT Exam –

The Indian Navy Eligibility Test is a Computer Based Test of 2 hours duration. The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of total 100 marks. Subjects that will be asked in the exam are Reasoning & Numerical Ability (20 marks), English (20 marks), General Science (20 marks), Mathematical Aptitude (20 marks), and General Knowledge (20 marks).

Shortlisting for SSB -

Qualifiers of Computer-Based Test will appear in SSB interview. As per the media reports, the exam will likely to be conducted in October 2019 at Bangalore for Pilot & Observer candidates and Bhopal, Bangalore, Vishakhapatnam, and Kolkata for other branches/ entries.

Note: Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their SSB interview through SMS or registered email id.

SSB Interview -

For SSB interview round, students will be selected based on their performance in the INET exam and achievable rank. The SSB interview process will be conducted in two stages:

  • Stage I - Picture Perception, Intelligence Test, and Discussion Test
  • Stage II – Group Tests, Psychological Testing, and Interview

Candidates who passed the Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who will not succeed in Stage I will be sent back on the same date.

Note: The final merit list for the recruiting post will be prepared based on INET (50% weightage) and SSB interview (50% weightage).

Medical -  

SSB recommended aspirants are required to undergo for medical examination, which is applicable for their entry in INET Recruitment process. Students who have applied for Pilot post are required to undergo for PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) followed by the Aviation Medical Exam. Candidates who will declare medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit of each branch based on the availability of the number of vacancies in various branches.

Training Period of INET 2019-20

Aspirants will be recruited as officers in several branches of Indian Navy. Officers of all branches except the officers of IT will undergo for 22 Weeks Naval Orientation Course whereas officers of SSC (IT) will undergo for 04 Weeks Naval orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
