Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET 2019) - Syllabus, Exam Pattern, and Marking Scheme

Indian Navy has recently introduced the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) for Officer Entry. A large section of graduate students have applied for the exam and filled their Online Application Form for INET 2019 through Combined Defence Services. The process to submit online applications conducted from 18th May 2019 and ended on 29th May 2019. As of September 2019, INET (officers) will take place twice a year. This year the Indian Navy Entrance Test is expected to be held in the month end of August 2019 through online mode, while the Admit card will be issued 10 days prior to the exam. Thus, participants have very less time to prepare well for the exam. Note: Earlier Indian Navy used to complete the recruitment process for officer’s entry through the means of its conducting exam such as NDA, CDS and few direct navy entries only. But as of now, INET will be a great opportunity for the aspirants who were not able to make in other entries.

INET 2019 Marking Scheme

Correct Responses - For every correct response, four marks will be awarded. So, each section in the exam is of total 100 marks.

Incorrect Responses - For every incorrect response, one mark will be deducted. Thus, candidates are advised to answer the questions carefully.

Indian Navy Entrance Test 2019 is a computer-based online written exam which will be conducted at various centres across the country. The exam will be of two hours of duration and will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions comprises English, mathematical aptitude & numerical ability, general science & general knowledge, reasoning.

Note: For each section, a candidate will have to answer 20 questions and if they submit a correct answer (+1) mark will be awarded to them, while for each wrong answer (-1) will be deducted.

Grammar Usage –

Reading Comprehension –

Consider being one of the most critical yet important sections of English Language. Therefore, students are advised to build up a proper plan to utilize their time in this section.

Rearrangement of Sentences –

In this section, students will be asked a group of jumbled and mixed sentences. All the participants need to do is to rearrange the wording given in the question to make them into a meaningful sentence.
