UP BTC 2021: Application Process, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process & Syllabus

Uttar Pradesh is one of the states that allows studious and enthusiastic young men and women to become primary teachers through BTC (Basic Training Certificate). The credit goes to SCERT (State Council of Educational and Research Training) of UP that started BTC as a career platform for the youngsters. The rules and regulations regarding UP BTC keep changing from time to time. So, the students need to know the latest application process, exam pattern, syllabus & eligibility criteria of this teaching job.

UP BTC 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • Age: The age of candidates should be from 18 to 30 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the rules and regulations of the government.
  • Education Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or college with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

UP BTC 2021 Exam Pattern

There are 200 objective type questions and the duration of the exam is two hours. There is no negative marking in it. So, candidates can try their best guesses.

UP BTC 2021 Cutoff

It is the minimum marks that candidates are expected to score to pass the exam. There is no certain figure about it. It depends on the total number of vacancies for private and government colleges, number of candidates, percentage scored by candidates in class X, XII and Graduation. The cutoffs are different for different categories of candidates.

UP BTC 2021 Selection Process

The selection of candidates depends on the following factors:

Merit list: After conducting a written list, a merit list of candidates is prepared according to the marks obtained by them. So, candidates need to gain scores as many as they can in the exam.

Counselling: After passing the written test, candidates are called for a counselling session.

Document verification:

For this purpose, candidates need to bring the following documents:

  • Class X and XII certificates
  • Graduation mark sheet/Degree
  • Domicile of Uttar Pradesh
  • Registration number and Slip
  • Recent Colour photographs
  • Payment receipt
  • Caste/ PH certificates
