AFCAT 2019 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme, Question Type and Syllabus

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) (I) 2019 exam is going to be held in the online mode on 16th and 17th February. The application process for the February exam has already begun on 1st December 2018. The last date to fill in the online application form is 30th December. There is hardly any time left to ponder over things other than the entrance test. All you need to do is to brush up with the complete syllabus, understand the exam pattern and do a quick revision. No matter how well you know the AFCAT syllabus and exam pattern, having a quick and last minute look always proves to be handy and fruitful. Let’s take a tour –
AFCAT 2019 Syllabus
Four major subjects that an Air Force Common Admission Test aspirant must be well-versed with. They are as follows –
- English: Comprehension, Synonyms, Error Detection, Idioms and Phrases, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary and sentence Completion/Filling in of the correct word
- General Awareness: History, Basic Science, Culture, Politics, Current Affairs, Civics, Sports, Defence, Art, Environment and geography
- Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time & Distance (Trains/ Boat Streams), Average, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Percentage, Time and Work and Profit & Loss
- Reasoning & Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability
Syllabi Standard
The standard of questions in English, Reasoning & Military Aptitude and General Awareness will be that of Graduation-level, based on Indian University. Numerical Ability subject will have questions of Matriculation-level.
AFCAT Exam Pattern 2019
Candidates appearing for the Air Force Common Admission Test (I) will face 100 questions, carrying 300 marks. The time allotted for the exam is 2 hours. The objective-type questions would comprise topics from Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Verbal Ability in English subjects.

AFCAT Exam Marking Scheme –
- Each question carries three (3) important marks.
- Every correct answer is rewarded with 3 full marks.
- One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Questions that are left unattempted get no marks.
Question Type & Language –
- The language of the questions would be English.
- All the questions would come in the objective-type forms.
