AILET 2021 Eligibility

Applicants need to fulfil the eligibility criteria for the AILET 2021 exam. If any candidate is found ineligible at any stage, he/ she will be disqualified. Here are the details for AILET eligibility:

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programme

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Those appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Programme

  • Candidates must have passed a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree programme with minimum aggregate marks of 55% (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories).
  • Those in the final year of the LLB programme are also eligible.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Programme

  • Candidates must hold an LLM degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST).


  • Completed law degree along with Master’s degree such as MPhil in Humanities/ Social Sciences from a recognised University with at least 55% marks.


  • Must have completed a law degree and a PhD (any discipline).


  • Must have worked as a State High Court Judge in India for a minimum of three years or Judge at the Supreme Court of India.

AILET 2021 Application Process

NLU Delhi has started the AILET 2021 application process on 23rd January 2021. The application process is online. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications till 20th May 2021.

Steps to Submit the AILET 2021 Application Form

The application process can be filled in the following stages:

  • Visit the official website at
  • Click on the ‘Click here for AILET 2021 Admissions’ button on the top.
  • Click on the ‘New Registration’ button.
  • Provide the details asked for such as course, name, mobile number, and email ID. Generate the OTP, it will be sent to your mobile number for verification.
  • After the successful verification, the registration process will be complete.
  • The Login ID (Application number) will be sent to the registered email address.

Application Form Filling

  • After successful registration, log in using your ID and password.
  • Complete the remaining application form by providing details such as mother's name, father's name, date of birth, gender, category, nationality, centre choices, academic qualification, address, etc.
  • Upload the scanned image of the candidate's photograph and signature.
  • Preview the application form before final submission.

Photograph and Signature Specifications

  • Recent passport size photograph with white background. The size of the photograph must be 15 to 250 KB. The scanned image should be in .jpg/ .jpeg format.
  • Signature with black/ blue pen on white paper within a 6cms x 3cms box. The image must be in .jpg/ .jpeg format in size 15 to 250 KB.

AILET 2021 Admit Card

The AILET 2021 admit card will be released on the official website. The admit cards are scheduled to be uploaded on 5th June 2021. Candidates can download the same using their login ID and password. The admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in the exam. Details for exam date, timing, venue, exam day instructions, and more will be mentioned on the admit card. Candidates must carry a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card on the exam day.
