NEST 2019 Exam – Registration Date Extended Till 18 March
The last date for application submission for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2019 has been extended up to 18th March 2019 midnight. Earlier, the deadline for the application submission was 11th March 2019. Candidates can fill the application form online through the official website.
The exam is conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE-CEBS) for admission to 5-year Integrated M. Sc. Program.

Steps to apply for the NEST 2019 exam
- Go to the NEST official website.
- Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link.
- Now click on the registration link. If you are already registered, log-in using your credentials.
- Fill the basic information for completing the registration.
- Log-in using your registration number and password.
- Complete the application form, upload the required documents, and make fee payment.
- After successful fee payment, take print of the confirmation page.
Application Fee
- General and OBC – ₹ 1200/-
- SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates – ₹ 600/-
NEST 2019 Exam Schedule
The NEST 2019 exam will be conducted on 1st June 2019 in two sessions:
- First Session – 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
- Second Session – 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Education –
Candidates should have passed class XI and XII from Science stream with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics subjects with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum aggregate marks are 55%.
Candidates who have passed class XII or equivalent from a recognized board in the year 2017, 2018 or will be appearing for the board exams in 2019 are eligible for NEST 2019.
Age limit –
Candidates belonging to General and OBC category should be born on or after 1st August 1999. A relaxation of 5 years will be provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.
NEST 2019 Result
Based on candidates’ performance in the NEST exam, separate merit lists will be prepared for the NISER and CEBS. The merit list will be uploaded on the official website on 17th June 2019. Qualified candidates have to participate in the counselling process for admission.
