NID 2017 Entrance Exam For Interior Designing

Interior designing is a professional course. Now-a-days it is an extremely popular course especially among girls. NID (National Institute of Design) conducts entrance exam on national level every year for admission of students into various Undergraduate and Post graduate courses in Design. Students are taken on the basis of their performance in the Design Aptitude Test. DAT is a two stage exam with Prelims and Mains. In order to know more about the NID 2017 exam, read below –


Eligibility for Interior Design Courses

Eligibility for B.Des

  • For admission in B.Des programme candidate should have done the 10+2 from any recognized board or University.
  • The upper age limit of the candidate should not be more than 20 years. There is relaxation of 3 years in age for the reserved category of candidates.

Eligibility for M.Des

  • For admission in M.Des programme candidate should have done bachelors in Design or Diploma in Design.
  • The upper age limit of the candidate should not be more than 30 years.There is relaxation of 3 years in age for the reserved category of candidates.

Interior Design Courses Admission Process

Candidate should apply online for the NID 2017 Exam. Before filling the application form candidate should read carefully the instruction booklet for filling the form. The filled application form should be submitted before the closing date of the application form or otherwise it should be submitted along with the late application fee.

How To Apply

  • A candidate should first of all get himself registered on the official website of the NID by giving details about his name, phone number and email id.
  • Upon registration a candidate is provided login credentials with login id and password on his personal email id.
  • With login credentials candidate will be able to access the application form.
  • He should fill the application form with correct details about himself.
  • Along with the application form candidate should upload the scanned copy of the photo and signature as well.
  • All filled application form should be submitted along with the application fee.
  • Candidate should pay the application fee through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. If he cannot pay through the online method then he can pay the application fee through the Demand Draft, drawn in favour of –

Admit Card

Candidate can download their admit card online. It is available on the official website of the NID. By entering their login details candidate can download their admit card and take its print copy. The admit card contains information like roll number, date and venue of the examination. Candidate must carry admit card at the centre of the examination. Without admit card no candidate will be allowed to take the exam.
