
UPSC Released ESE 2019 Preliminary Stage Admit Card – Steps to Download
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the Preliminary stage of the Engineering Services Examination 2019 on 12 December 2018. Candidates who have applied for the exam can download the e-admit card from the official website. UPSC has also released the admit cards for scribes of blind candidates.
Steps to download the UPSC ESE Prelims Admit Card 2019
Candidates are advised to download the e-admit card latest by 6th January 2019 using the following steps:
- Go to the official website - http://www.upsc.gov.in/.
- Click on ‘e-Admit Card: Engineering Services (Preliminary – Stage I) Examination, 2019’ link under ‘What’s New’ section.
- Click on ‘Click Here’ link.
- Again click on ‘Click Here’ link.
- Read the important instructions and click on the ‘Yes’ button.
- You can download the admit card using your registration Id or roll number.
- Select any one option, and enter the details asked for.
- Click on ‘Submit’ button.
- Your admit card will appear on the screen,
- Download and take a print out.

Check all the details in the admit card carefully. If you find any discrepancy in the admit card, report it to UPSC immediately. In case you can’t find your admit card online, contact the Facilitation Counter in the Commission’s Office in person or over the phone. The contact numbers are- 011-23381125/011-23385271/011-23098543. Candidates will be responsible for the non-receipt of the e-admit card if he/she doesn’t inform the Commission about the same one week prior to the exam.
As per the official notification, “No candidates will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he/she holds e-Admission Certificate for the examination.”
UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam Pattern
The Engineering Services Preliminary stage exam will be conducted on 6th January 2019. The detailed exam pattern for the Preliminary phase is as under:

Objective type questions will be asked in both the papers. 1/3rd marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. If any question is left unanswered, no marks will be allotted or deducted for it.
Candidates who qualify the preliminary exam are required to appear for the next stage of the examination – Main. The Main exam will be held on 30th June 2019. A personality test carrying 200 marks will be conducted for those who qualify the Main examination.
