The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) or NEET SS 2020 is held under the umbrella of the National Board of Education for admission to various DM/ MCh courses. According to the Indian Medical Council Act, 2016, no other entrance test is valid for admission to DM/ MCh courses. As per the latest update, NEET SS Counselling 2020 dates have been postponed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) till the next notice. Registration dates for the first round of NEET SS 2020 counselling will be announced soon. Candidates must note that registration process for NEET SS counselling 2020 will be online, MCC will not accept offline applications. The last date to register for the first round of NEET SS 2020 counselling has also been postponed.

NEET SS Counselling Important Dates 2020

NEET SS 2020 counselling will be conducted in two rounds. The entire NEET Super Speciality 2020 counselling process will be online. Candidates must note that only those who have scored more than the qualifying percentile in NEET SS result 2020 are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

NEET SS Counselling Process 2020 – Step-By-Step Guide

The complete NEET Super Speciality Counselling 2020 process will be comprises of these steps, which are as follows:

  • Registration and Application Process
  • Choice Filling and Locking
  • Seat Allotment List
  • Accepting/Refusing the Allotted Seat
  • Report the Institute

Step 1 - Registration and Application Process

Candidates who want to participate in the counselling round of NEET SS 2020 will have to register themselves on the official website of MCC. As mentioned above, only those candidates who have qualified the NEET SS 2020 will be able to register for the counselling process.

In order to complete the application process for NEET SS 2020 counselling, candidates will have to pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹ 5,000 online. They will also have to transfer a security deposit of ₹ 2,00,000. The security deposited will be adjusted against the academic fees for students who have been allotted a seat through the counselling of NEET SS 2020. The amount will be refunded to the candidates who do not get the seat allotted to them or those who opt out of the counselling process.

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking

Now, fill the choices for course/college on the official portal of MCC. One must make sure to check the fee structure and other details about the colleges they wish to select before submitting their choices. To fill their choices, candidates will have to log in to their registered accounts on the official website of MCC. They then need to select the courses/colleges they wish to apply for in the decreasing order of preference. There is no limit to the number of choices one can fill in the preference form. Also, the choices filled can be modified any number of times before a candidate locks them.

Step 3: Seat Allotment List

After this, MCC will prepare the seat allotment list for various specialities on the basis of the NEET SS 2020 merit list and the choices that were submitted online by the candidates. The seat allotment list for each specialty is prepared separately.

Step 4: Accepting or Refusing the Seat Allotted

Candidates will be allotted a seat through the NEET SS counselling will have to choose from the following four options:

  • Accept the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process
  • Accept the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round
  • Refuse the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round
  • Refuse the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process

All candidates selected through the counselling of NEET SS 2020 will have to fill any of the above options by logging into their registered accounts. If a candidate fails to choose any of the above options, their seat will be forfeited and their admission will be cancelled.

Step 5: Report the Institute

Candidates who choose to accept the allotted seat will have to report to the respective institute before the deadline. Candidates who have opted for upgradation in the next round will also have to report to the allotted institute, else they will not be considered for the next round.

  5. Permanent Registration Certificate for MBBS/MD/MS/DNB issued by NBE
  6. Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of birth
  7. A valid photo ID proof (PAN card/Driving License, Voter ID, Passport/Aadhar Card)
