Hospital Administration Program of SMU - Admission Procedure and Fee Structure

With an aim to utilize the skilled potential of India, Sikkim Manipal University has introduced the Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) program. This program started during the academic year 2008-09 under the skill development courses at Sikkim Manipal University campus. Let’s check out more details about the course.

The Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) has been in demand in recent years due to increase the number of healthcare organizations in the health sector. These organisations require sheer management expertise for smooth functioning. MHA is a two years post-graduation course with detailed learning curriculum distributed among four semesters. SMU organizes internship or on the job training for its students for 16 weeks in selected hospitals across India and abroad after the 3rd semester.

Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA) Program

The program is designed to develop the expertise in Hospital Administration & Health System Management in Healthcare Industry/ Hospital establishments. This is an exclusive management program for graduate students. The maximum annual intake of students in the course is limited to 15 only; so you need to be really quick for applying.

What are the Eligibility criteria for MHA program?

Students, who are seeking admission in the MHA program of Sikkim Manipal University should  have at least a bachelor's degree with 50 % marks in aggregate for general category students (and for North Eastern states ST, SC & OBC is the minimum marks should be 45%). Along this, students with one year work experience in Hospital/Health System Management will get a preference.

The total course fee for the examination is as under:

  • Sikkim Concession – ? 1,34,600

This fee can be paid in two years as under:

First Year

  • General – ? 1,66,700
  • Sikkim Concession – ? 70,300

Second Year

  • General – ? 1,60,700
  • Sikkim Concession – ? 64,300
