Recommended Books for Central Teacher Eligibility (CTET) Paper I and Paper II

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the eligibility requirement to teach classes I to VIII in CBSE affiliated schools. The exam consists of separate papers for primary and elementary classes.

  • Paper I is for candidates who are interested in teaching classes I to V (Primary Level)
  • Paper II is for candidates who are interested in teaching classes from VI to VIII (Elementary Level)

Candidates can also apply for both the papers. While NCERT books are best for the clearing the basic concepts of the syllabus, there are other good books available for CTET preparation. Here are some recommended books for the exam. Candidates are advised to prepare from one or two books only. Referring too many books will only create confusion.

Previous years solved papers are also available online for different subjects, you can purchase them for practice. Once you qualify the CTET, the certificate remains valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration. However, you can appear in the exam before that to improve your score.
