UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam) earlier known as UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University) Exam is a state-level entrance exam conducted by AKTU (Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, UP). This entrance exam paves the way for admission of students in the various technical colleges/ institutions of Uttar Pradesh affiliated to AKTU. By qualifying this exam, students can get admission in the various UG & PG courses in Engineering, Pharmacy, and Management. Those who are willing to pursue B.Arch, B.Pharm, B.Tech, MCA, MAM, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, MBA, etc. in Uttar Pradesh can apply for upcoming UPSEE 2020 exam.

UPSEE/ UPTU 2020 Exam Latest Notification - AKTU, the exam conducting body has further extended the UPSEE 2020 application process till 31st May; earlier it was 15th May 2020. Candidates appearing in UPSEE 2020 are eligible to make corrections in their online forms from 03rd June 2020 onwards. The UPSEE 2020 state entrance was schedule to be held from 10th May, but due to imposed novel COVID-19 lockdown the decision to defer the examination had been taken by the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. As per the latest news, the exam is now going to be conduct on 02nd August 2020.

UPSEE 2020 Exam Pattern

The UPTU/AKTU 2020 will be conducted on 02nd August 2020 as per the new official date. Earlier the examination authority had postponed the exam, in a wake of the lockdown to check spread of Sars-Cov-2. The UPSEE 2020 will consist of 8 question papers, which will be designed by AKTU for admission in various UG and PG courses. These papers will contain objective type questions except Paper 3 which is meant for testing candidate's drawing aptitude.

UPSEE 2020 Syllabus

UPSEE Exam 2020 Eligibility

To appear for the UPSEE 2020 Exam, candidates should fulfil below eligibility criteria-


  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • NRI, Foreign Nationals, PIO (People of Indian Origin) and Kashmiri migrants are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for the UPTU exam.

Educational Qualification –

  • Candidates should have passed the 12th standard in the Science stream with the combination of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) subjects to become eligible to apply for the B.Tech admission.
  • Those candidates who have done B.Sc or Diploma in Engineering are eligible to apply for the exam for lateral entry in B.Tech course.
  • Candidates who are in their final year are also eligible to apply for the UPSEE exam.

UPSEE Exam 2020 Application Process

UPTU exam application forms 2020 are available on the official website of UPSEE upsee.nic.in. The application process has started on 27th January 2020 and will continue till 31st May 2020. The dates have been extended, due to the extended coronavirus lockdown policy by central government. The candidates who are interested in getting admission to UP Technical University should fill the application form as per the given instructions. After filling the form, the candidate must keep a printout of the confirmation page which will be required for future use. There is no need to send the printed copy of the confirmation page to the University.

Steps to Fill UPSEE/UPTU 2020 Application Form

  • Visit the official UPSEE website.
  • Click on the link for B.Tech online application form at the home-page.
  • Click the ‘APPLY’ button under the ‘New Candidate Registration’ section.
  • Read the instructions carefully and proceed for the registration form.
  • Enter the details asked for to complete the registration process.
  • An application number will be generated on successful registration.
  • Use the application number and password to log-in and complete the application form.
  • Provide personal details, address, qualification details, category etc. to complete the application form.
  • Check all the details carefully before proceeding to the next step.
  • Upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature. The scanned images must be in JPG format in the sizes – 10KB to 200KB (3.5cm X 4.5cm) for photograph and 3KB to 30KB (3.5cm X 1.5cm) for signature.
  • After successful upload of the scanned documents, pay the fee using the Debit/Credit card.
  • Candidates will be able to take a printout of the confirmation page after successful fee payment.
  • Download and take a print-out of the confirmation page for future reference.

UPSEE Exam Application Fee

Payment of the application fee for the UPTU exam is mandatory. The applicants should fill the details of the application fee on the application form. Once paid the application fee is non-refundable.

Other Details

UPTU / UPSEE Admit Card 2020

As per the UPSEE 2020 notification, the exam, which was scheduled to be held on 10th May is now performed on 02nd August 2020. Candidates are allowed to download the UPSEE 2020 admit card only from the official website, once it is released online. The admit card contains the applicant’s personal information including the candidate’s name, roll number, date, timing, and address of the venue of the exam. Without the call letter, no candidate will be allowed to appear in the UPSEE exam. Candidates should preserve the admit card until the exam gets complete. For any discrepancy or difficulty in downloading the admit card, the candidate should contact the AKTU official help desk as soon as possible.

UPSEE 2020 Exam Result

After commencing the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) 2020 exam, the result of the AKTU Exam 2020 will be published on the official website. Candidates will allow checking their online UPSEE 2020 result by using their login details – Registration Number and Password. A separate merit list has been prepared for each course based on the score obtained by the aspirants in the written exam. Qualified students will be called for document verification and counselling. Candidates can find merit position, scorecard, total marks & subject-wise marks on the UP Technical University website using their log-in details.

UPSEE Counselling 2020

AKTU will organize the UPTU/ UPSEE counselling process in the month of September 2020. The online process will be done in several steps such as registration, choice filling, fee payment (INR 20,000/- for General Category and INR 12,000/- for SC/ST candidates), uploading of documents, allotment of seats and physical reporting at the centre. While visiting the venue, the candidates must bring hall tickets and essential original documents.
