UPSC civil services cut off are the minimum score candidates have to obtain to qualify civil services prelims, mains and interview. The exam conducting authority, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), has released civil services exam 2016 cut-off on the scheduled date (2 June 2016.) Check the category-wise cut-off list below:

Prelims cut off are calculated on the basis of GS Paper I only. GS Paper II was of qualifying nature with 33% (66.66 marks.) (Rule 15, Civil Service Examination, 2016.)

Mains cut off are calculated on the basis of 10% marks in each of the seven papers viz. Essay, GS-I, GS-II, GS-III, GS-IV, Optional-I and Optional-II.

Civil Services Cut Off Declaration Phases

UPSC declares the IAS cut off in three stages:

IAS Prelims cut off: This is the screening stage. The candidates who clear the prelims cut off are shortlisted for Main exam.

IAS Mains cut off: The candidates who qualify the Mains cut off are called for interview by UPSC.

IAS Final cut off (written and interview): The marks secured by candidates in the interview and the written exam are taken together for IAS final cut off.
